Chapter 16

Yohan's heart dropped the moment he heard " Where is Simon?". It was Gaon. He would bet his life on it. He closed his eyes and tried to give out his breath as silently as possible. Hundreds of questions went around his head making him feel physically dizzy.
He was hiding in a tunnel that they were digging for the last eight years. He was here for marking the way and leave a sign for each room based on his memory for the grand day.
He closed his eyes.
" Don't panic. Don't panic. " He repeatedly reminded himself. He took some deep breaths to calm his nerves. He tried to focus on Gaon's footsteps but he had lost it. He pressed his eyes together.
Gaon was looking for Simon so they'll just let him wait in one of their empty rooms. He slowly moved around trying to find the familiar sound of Gaon's footsteps.
Yohan moved around for some time. He didn't know how long has it been but now he had stopped behind a room.
This room was supposed to be their starting point. It was left empty with nothing special so there was no bodyguard.
He was sure Gaon was there. Kinda?
If this was the wrong room, his life and their whole operation would be fucked. But Gaon would be safe, right? As long as he doesn't mention his name...
He slowly pushed the cover behind the hole.
After the cover, he focused on sliding the bookshelf away. Little by little light appeared and Gaon's shocked face came to his sight. Yohan let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.

" I... wha... I..." Gaon stuttered. Fear getting more obvious in his eyes.

" Get in here..." Yohan's voice wasn't demanding. It was firm with no hint of anger or shock. Like he just didn't see his loved one in his worst enemy's house.
Gaon looked at him for a slight moment then just nodded and walked towards him. He claimed up to the pit and slowly placed it next to Yohan.
After he was set, Yoahn moved the bookshelf and covered up.
Gaon still didn't know what to feel and this small place with the least amount of oxygen wasn't helping.

"I" He opened his mouth to explain.

"Shhhh" Yohan covered Ga on's mouth with his hand. His eyes still looking out.

" I won't survive if something happens to you." Yohon whispered before looking right into his eyes. Ga on could swear he won't survive this moment either.
Gaon didn't know what was happening. Why Yohan is here? What was he thinking about Gaon being there? Or what will happen if they open the door and face an empty room? But right now... at this whole dangerous moment, all he could think about was how much he wants to lick the hand that was put on his mouth.
Yohan turned his face around, feeling his hot gaze on him. He questioned him with his eyes. Gaon was too far to notice the huge question mark on Yohan's face but the moment their eyes met, he made a decision.
The next second, Yohan's eyes went wide feeling a wet trace on his right hand which he vividly saw where it came from.
