The Oryx, with their once human hunters now helping their species to survive, is increasing in numbers.
From near extinction, due to over hunting, the masters of the desert are holding on.
I hope you enjoy this poem dedicated to these remarkable animals...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ghostly spirits
In a harsh world,
Sense life's fluidic miracle
From vast distances
All around their blistering home...
Their blistering home,
That hides
Life's miracle fluid
To challenge the apparitions,
The masters of the sand seas,
To survive
Or perish
At its will...
Males rut,
To secure territory
And a harem...
The losers,
Face fatal wounds,
Harsh winds
And starvation...
Together,
They are diligent
And formidable
Against their desert foe...
Alone,
Fate
Can be sympathetic or
Merciless...
Yet hope,
Beckons
Their survival
No matter the odds
Against them...
