Chapter 2

*6 years later

Fletcher sat on the carriage next to king Harold and Old king Alfric. He looked outside at Vocans awe struck at its size. Harold smiled before saying "do you know why we are here?" Fletcher shaked his head before Alfric snapped "we are checking your fulfilment level today".

Fletcher asked Harold "What level are you?"

Harold looked at him with a smile and said "how about we go find out?"

Fletcher watched as provost scipio and the various teachers and servants bowed. Fletcher smiled at a women with long black hair and sharp features. Her eyes were blank until she looked at Fletcher with a welcoming smile. Fletcher ran out the carriage straight to the lady. King Harold walked after him. Fletcher hugged her before saying "whats your name". She glanced at Harold before crouching down and looking at Fletcher and saying "My name is Elaine Lovett but most people call me Captain Lovett". Harold had finally caught up with Fletcher and apologised to Captain Lovett.

Old king Alfric had also appeared and started scolding Fletcher. Fletcher looked down as king Harold took his hand and started to take him inside Vocans. He looked back and waved at Captain Lovett who smiled and waved back. Fletcher asked Harold "do you know Lovett"?

Harold looked at him and said "Yes I know Captain Lovett we went to this school together although she was quite younger than me when that happened". Fletcher looked at him and whispered "will I see her again"?

Harold looked down at the tiny Fletcher before saying "You will see her during noble gathering and if you really want I can make arrangements for her to tutor you"

Fletcher grinned and began skipping around the castle singing a melody. Harold looked at Alfric who had a hint of a smile on his face. Not long after they had arrived at the room.

Fletcher looked at it confused as what to do Harold told him to do what he does and placed his hand on a stone. His hands glowed blue then after a minute he lifted it up and placed the hand on the fulfilment meter it rang 106 times and Harold told Fletcher it was his turn. Fletcher nervously walked up and placed his hand on the stone his hands glowed blue and a cool sensation tingled through his body. He giggled then his hands went normal. Fletcher looked confused forgetting what to do next. Harold called out to Fletcher telling him to put it on the fulfilment meter.

Fletcher put his hand on it feeling a hot sensation that made his squirm he saw the rock light up one time then another. At the end of it 11 lights had turned on. Fletcher felt full and looked at Harold before saying in a quiet voice "can we go home now".

Harold told him they would have to stay for dinner first but promised that he could sit with captain Lovett. Fletcher made jumped in joy looking at Alfric who ignored him and told Harold. "He's above average for a noble who has had no knowledge in spellcrafy before". Harold nodded then said "shall we head to dinner"?

Alfric nodded taking Fletcher by his hand and showing him a painting of dead dwarves. Fletcher looked at it in horror as Harold picked him up ignoring what had just happened. Harold put him down and walked Fletcher to the dining hall. They sat with the teachers allowing Fletcher to run off to captain Lovett. She made room for fletcher who now sat next to her and a man with black hair and a fresh scar across his face. He smiled at Elaine before looking back at Fletcher with a tear in his eye. Fletcher asked the man what's wrong. And he just whispered you like like them. Elaine told the man "Arcturus it's ok". Fletcher annoyed at being ignored grabbed at Lovett hair as a group of students in the back watched laughing at what was happening. Arcturus laughed before helping Lovett. Fletcher finished how food before asking Lovett "why was that man sad"? She smiled and said "you remind him of his friend".

*5 years later

Captain Lovett shouted at Fletcher and told him to infuse Athena as she was distracting him. Fletcher pulled put his summoning leather and infused her. Lovett smiled before carrying on her demonology lesson. After a few minutes fletcher interrupted her and said I had a nightmare last night. Lovett looked at him and said "what happened in it"?

Fletcher told her he was a baby with his parents in a house and Athena was with the baby then a his parents spotted a fire in the town. They then saw orcs. Lovett gasped realising what she was hearing and asked Fletcher have you told Harold yet? Fletcher nodded and continued he told Lovett that his parents said they were betrayed and that the soldiers weren't there. They fought until the soldiers arrived then Athena picked me up and flew me away. He paused for a moment then said "I saw my father die".

Lovett walked up to him and hugged him and said "I'm so sorry you had to see that".

OK this chapter is just Fletcher growing up and alfric is still mean I just made him have the smallest soft spot for Fletcher next chapter he will be 16
