Forgotten Crumbles of a Dream

My heart trembles with the chuckle of leaves,

A gentle whimper of my soul, billowed by the winter breeze,

My mind wavers to the withered tapestry of a sealed reminisce,

A treasure, a curse of the hours we spent in the other's presence.

The vows recklessly scribbled in a childish scrawl,

"Who would reach there first?", the passage of fate forgotten in our brawl,

Without realizing, it is a dream destined for a mere few,

Those memories remain as engraved patterns in my soul, rotten with rue.

I wonder, where had it all begun to go astray?

Was it because you realized how heavy dreams weigh?

Or was it because my heart divulged with the devil's sway?

Whatever it may be, our forlorn fantasies rest long forgotten.

Entranced by doom alluring, I dance into ruin unknowing

Of a world where none can thrive, and yet, I vow to strive,

For it's this paradise of despair that would hold me together,

Keep the monster in me sealed, forever.
