"Give me the joint" I sighed falling back onto the couch beside JJ
"Long day?" he laughed passing it to me
"fifteen" I said taking a hit "fifteen places i have tried to get a job. Fifteen places I have been turned away from"
"no luck here either" he said taking the joint back
"i swear, i'm ready to beg for either the club or Ward to take me back"
"just wait, bigger and better things are gonna happen. I don't know when but its comin" he laughed
"i wish i lived in your head sometimes" I replied
"na it's a scary place in here" he laughed
"ugh I give up" I said falling dramatically across his lap
"how about we do something to get your mind off things" he said softly playing with the ends of my hair
"like what? We have no money" I laughed
"i don't know, go check out the surf?"
"already have, no luck"
"go for a drive?"
"JB has the twinkie"
"damn really shooting down all my ideas here....uhh fine, how about we just go for a walk"
"a walk?"
"yea, you like walks"
"I do, but you don't" I laughed
"i guess i'll just have to make this sacrifice for you" he said getting up
"we could just stay in and watch a movie"
"what movies do you have?"
".....mamma mia"
"nuh uh, you ain't putting me through that shit again"
"hey, you loved it don't even lie"
"it was better than i expected but i would rather a walk" he laughed
"fine, a walk it is" I smiled standing up and taking his hand as we walked down to the coast
"tonight would be the perfect night for a bonfire" I smiled looking at how calm the sea was, barely even a breeze blowing
"oh yea, shotgunning a few beers, music" JJ said getting excited
"would just be us two though" I laughed
"meh...i guess your company isn't the worst" he said nudging me gently
"shut up" I laughed
"where is everyone anyway?"
"Well my brother and Sarah are having a date night and Heyward has Pope on lockdown"
"what's he done now"
"abandoned his studying to fix our relationship" I laughed
"well.....thanks Pope" JJ said holding up his joint as a toast to him"so uhhh, i got a question and i'm only gonna ask it if you promise not to get mad"
"brilliant start to the conversation" I said stopping walking
"won't get mad?"
"no i won't get mad"
"promise?"
"promise"
"look...i uh- I saw Kie yesterday"
