Shortly after that lovely Thanksgiving, Joey was quick to have Maggie over again. He was having fun with his sister. Maggie had been pretty busy that week since it was almost Christmas. She wanted to save up money for nice gifts for the girls. She just felt a little bad since it would eventually be their first Christmas without their mother. Then again, Christmas was an entire month away; it's just that it was so expensive in San Francisco. She missed the boat on Black Friday since she stepped into one store and almost got trampled. Let's just say that moving was a difficult adjustment.

Since there was a lot to get done to save money for Christmas, she has been working double time at her floral shop. She was a floral designer there but would often handle things like orders. Which is what she was doing at the Tanner household; Maggie had offered to keep an eye on Michelle while the girls were at school and the guys were at work. Well, Joey was working on some jokes right now. He had been helping with keeping an eye on Michelle, of course, but now Maggie was making phone calls. Joey was kindly letting her use the house phone since he knew how important this was to Maggie. Maggie just felt bad; she knew what it was like to grow up without one of her parents around, and so did Joey. Right now, Michelle was sleeping peacefully in the living room while Maggie was going over the recipes for these arrangements.

By the time it was noon, that's when Jesse got back. He was in his exterminator jumpsuit with the sleeves rolled up. "Hi honey, I'm home," Jesse decided to say when he saw Maggie sitting on the floor in front of the couch as she worked away. There was a mess of papers in front of her, which apparently followed an organized system.

"Welcome back, dear," she said as a way to go along with the joke. Jesse had sat down on the couch to relax when he decided to look over her shoulder.

"What exactly do you do for work?" Jesse asked as he tried to be quiet for Michelle since she was so nearby.

"I am a floral designer, and these are some recipes that I've been working on for a wedding." "Weddings are the more stressful occasions," she responded before looking up at him. There was something about it this time: they were alone, she wasn't thinking about her brother, and she was working on something that was supposed to be romantic. "Hey, how was your day at work?" she asked as a way to break that tense silence between them now.

"Well, I was surrounded by silverfish," Jesse said as he groaned. Trust me, he loved his dad; it's just that he hated being an exterminator. "Listen. If you ever need a second job, anything but exterminating."

"You got it," Maggie exhaled while trying not to laugh so much. She didn't know why this was so funny; he was just funny. Not as funny as Joey though; nobody was funnier than her brother.

Jesse had to admit that he did enjoy that all of his bad jokes were funny to her. He was never the type to make jokes very often, but he would make as many as he could around her. Nevermind that, it was his friend's sister. Yet, that was starting to matter less and less to both of them as the days went by. "So, whose wedding are you planning for?" he asked.

"Oh, the Williams and Ortega wedding. "The couple isn't agreeing about anything, and the bridezilla isn't making things easier," she sighed as she leaned her head back on the couch and looked up at him. She didn't want to stop looking at him; she was supposed to be working right now too. "You are one hell of a distraction.

"Thanks, I get that a lot." There was this stupid smirk on his face. Maggie wasn't usually fond of his type; in reality, she didn't like many guys at all. She was often so focused on her career that she didn't really notice them, but there were a few from her past that stuck around. Jesse was one to get around, though. He knew nothing would ever come of this, yet he didn't consider it a waste of time with her. He was thinking about asking her out; he knew she'd say no, but it was worth a shot. "You know, I've been thinking," he started before he was suddenly cut off by Joey walking in.
