Tired Little Witch

I feel bad since I'm currently writing stuff for the sequel of my main fanfic (it's comming soon as I'm almost ready to post the first chapter, just need to do a bit of editing), so have this little oneshot in the meantime that takes place in the same AU right where we left off  in oneshots of that story.

Katherine's p.o.v

Today was a hard day at Glimmer Grove, all the diplomatic duties and economy stuff really tired me out. Thinking tht it was alliance related stuff, Shelby was also tired.... I guess she wasn't because I just now woke up to sounds of grunts, and shooting sparkles.

I knew witches preferred night, but she really needs some rest. I sighed and rubbed my eyes before standing up and getting my robes on as the night seemed fairly cold, I got one of the blankets that was the closest, just in case she's cold as well.

I got outside and yup, I was right she was practising spells.

"Tortoise I think I'm getting the hang of it.....Tortoise?" the now sleepy toad cracked in response as he was laid out on a rock, nearly asleep.

"Well I guess he's out......" said Shelby with a neutral look.

"He's got a poit my love." I said wrapping the blanket around her as I hugged her from behind, leaning on her shoulder as I was still sleepy.

She kissed my cheek and laughed a little "Hey darling, you said you don't have monster hunting tonight, why are you up so late?"

"I could ask the same about you, I woke up and you weren't here when I woke up."

"Sorry I was practicing spells, kinda an old habit of mine." she said while laughing awkwardly.

I stood up properly, and wrapped my arms around her neck, she held blanket with her hands. The wind blew her hat off but she just continued to stare into my eyes.

"You look really cute you know that?" I then kissed her cheek as she chuckled and blushed a little "But that still doesn't excuse that you need sleep."

She looked down "I'm sorry it's just...."

"No no, it's alright." I then put my hand on her shoulder and tilted my head to look her in the eyes "But they don't control your spells anymore, you're a full witch now my love."

She didn't say anything and just hugged me as a thanks, she's going through a lot and I want her to know that I'm here for her any time she needs me.

"I just, I don't know want to prove that I can be a great witch, but it was never enough to them."

"Awww Shelby, you are a great witch, and they don't have anything to do with you now. The old council was gone thanks to you. Many witches are now living better thanks to you."

"Thanks Katherine, you always know what to say." she put both her hands on my chin and I held the blanket around her as I hugged her.

The kiss lasted about a minute and we decided that it's finally time to rest.

I got her hat of the ground while she got Tortoise.

"Don't forget this my little witch." I said before ruffling her hair gently, but put the hat on her head again.

She chuckled a little and got closer to me as I wrapped my arm around her waist in a kinda hug way.
