The Purple Coat

The rain was coming down hard as I was making my way to the courtyard. People running in all directions avoiding the harsh damp dark weather. Each job is the rain was like bullets hitting the ground below. I stopped and watched the people around me moving so fast as though they were putting into fast mode. My whole body was soaked within minutes of just standing out with light clothes covering my body.

Out of the corner of my eye there it was. And of all the dark clothed bodies there stood in the pouring rain was a person in a purple coat. My eyes were fixed solely on this one person's coat. The person was standing across the yard with their back to me and their hood up. Next slide the heart sounded the raindrops became almost silent only the person walking past the rain but the only thing I noticed. Taking a step forward my mind began to wonder who this person is why I found this person so curious.

Stepping into the middle of the yard the figure started to move away from me and so I started walking faster. I found myself rushing through the crowd to meet this figure who at the time was far away walking towards a pitch of woods near the college.

Walking within the trees I ran as fast as I could before the person truly gone out of my sight. Catching my breath i could see the purple coat disappear behind a large tree. I took a breath and continued running towards where I last saw the purple coat. Passing through the trees the only thing I could focus on was just this one person and nothing else around me.

Coming to the tree I peeked behind to see the person in the purple coat just standing on what looked like a large ledge. Taking a deep breath, I moved from where I was standing, I walked behind the person. I reached out my hand to touch the person's shoulder and my stomach started to get nervous. The person in the purple coat didn't move an inch touching their shoulder. They still didn't move instead while my hand rested on them, I moved to see their face.

Moving in front of them I took off the hook to see a young girl with his face as blue as the sky was completely soaked to the bone her eyes were white like milk and her neck had a line of black and purple going around it. She raises her tiny head and looks into my brown eyes and then shifts her eyes back towards the ditch.

I turned my head to see what she was looking at and to my horror covered in the leaves below was what looked like a small skeleton. The skeleton itself was lying in what was a pool of water and to my surprise it was wearing a purple coat.

Turning back to meet her eyes I knew I had to be here so instead of saying nothing I just stood beside her and held her hand as we watched the girl and the purple coat.
