It's a vivid scene to me, unlike any other kind of scene that's occurred in my lifetime.
I was walking down the sidewalk holding an umbrella over my head. It was a stormy day in New Orleans, LA. I was trying to hurry and get home before it got any worse than this but I felt like the rain was already beating down hard enough.
I heard a clash of thunder and instantly knew that I had to find my way home quick. Times like these make me think of reasons why I shouldn't miss the bus or use my phone until it dies before I even get home.
The only thing keeping the rain and I apart was my small umbrella. I, Camila Cabello, was determined to find my way home and get out of this rain. I watched cars drift by and splash, they had their windshield wipers on the fastest they went.
I felt my umbrella giving up on me and I tried my best to hold onto it but it flew back. I pulled it closer to me but it was no use, the umbrella gave up on me and it broke.
I tried to quickly fix it but it was no use whatsoever, I saw a big tree and saw that it was covering some ground that barely had rain spots or puddles on it.
I went under the tree and tried desperately to fix my umbrella. Next thing I knew, I heard a clash of thunder and saw the sky light up. I heard another one and a few seconds later, I felt myself become in shock.
"Ouch... What was that?" I muttered. I felt myself electrifying like I was full of energy, and I didn't know why. I looked up and saw that a branch looked burnt and was about to fall. I quickly moved from where I was standing and then watched it fall.
Was I just struck by lightning? Was this tree just struck by lightning? Were the "don't stand under a tree when it's storming" advice true? I stood there in shock and was pulled out of my daze when a car drove up beside the sidewalk and honked at me.
I stared at the car and probably looked like a wet, crazy maniac staring at a tree.
The car window rolled down and it revealed a girl with beautiful wavy black hair and green eyes staring at me.
"Get in!" She called out. I stared at her for a moment before shaking my head.
"I don't....I don't get in cars with strangers!" I replied while she rolled her eyes.
"I'm Lauren, there! Now I'm not a stranger, just get in the car." Her voice became more husked.
"I can't..."
"Suit yourself. Stay in this horrible rain, I'm just trying to help out." Lauren said before putting her window back up and driving away slowly. I could feel my blood flowing pretty fast and my heartbeat more loudly. It was such a weird feeling.
I rolled my eyes and gave a small grunt. I jogged over to the car and the car stopped. The door opened and I saw that Lauren had opened the door for me. She had a small smirk on her face.
"Decided to join me?" Lauren asked and I rolled my eyes once more before getting in the car and sitting passenger to her before closing the door.
Lauren stepped on the gas and started to drive. "So, what's your name?"
"Camila."
"Camila...beautiful name." I looked at her and she smiled at me.
"So, if you just get me to the sidewalk by 30th street, I can walk the rest-" Lauren gave a small chuckle and I stopped and looked over at her.
