Last night was crazy, but at least you and Sonic have a place to stay for the time being. While the blue hedgehog was sitting on the roof, you watched the boy speaking to his mother on the phone.
"You see, there were two 'cats' in the pool, and I got them out." You heard Chris say.
Even though I'm a cat myself, you thought to yourself while hearing Sonic snicker. You turned your gaze to him as the ice aura in your hand began to show.
"Got something to say, bud?"
Sonic nervously smiled and looks away. After Chris ended the call with his mother, the blue hedgehog rushes over to the railing and stands in front of him.
"Take a good look; I'm a hedgehog and she's a lion hedgehog, not cats!"
The boy tries his best to calm Sonic down. "I-I know...but please, don't be mad. You see... my mom wouldn't understand."
The blue hedgehog blinked in curiosity, "Why not?"
"Because no one will believe him, Sonic." You say as he looks at you, "Even if they did, they would think he's crazy for a talking blue hedgehog and a pale brown lion hedgehog."
Sonic blinks, "Really?"
Chris shrugs, "What else could I say to her? That reminds me... when and where did you guys learn to talk?"
Both you and Sonic looked at each other before Sonic looks back at Chris.
"Good question... unfortunately, I don't have an answer for that nor do I remember." Your friend says, scratching the back of his head. "What do you think, Y/n?"
You shook your head, "Not a thing."
Before Chris could ask another question, the phone rings again as the boy answers it.
"Hello?"
"Chris, is everything alright?"
Noticing the voice from the phone, you could tell that it would be Chris' father. You watched the boy talk to his father as the voice on the device held a tone of worry.
"Chris, I know you like animals, but what you did was dangerous! Were you hurt? Did the cats scratch you while you were trying to save them?"
This time, you were annoyed by how a human compared you to a small carnivorous mammal. Another snickering tone came from your cobalt companion, to which it made you annoyed even more.
