"She had the hammer back, you know that. She was really going to blow his head off!" Rafe exclaimed, desperately trying to calm the girls as he gripped the steering wheel, his knuckles turning white.
"No, she was arresting him, Rafe!" Belle shouted, her frustration boiling over as she shot an incredulous look at him through the rearview mirror.
"Look, I couldn't just stand by and let her take my dad away, okay? She was going to kill him!" Rafe insisted, his voice rising in agitation as he struggled to justify his actions.
Sarah exchanged wide-eyed glances with Belle, disbelief etched on their faces. They felt the urgency of the moment, and without exchanging words, both girls lunged for the car doors to escape. Belle managed to swing hers open, but Rafe grabbed Sarah, yanking her back into her seat.
"Belle, run!" Sarah yelled, her voice thick with panic.
"FUCK!" Rafe shouted, frustration spilling over as he realized Belle was already sprinting away from the car.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group anxiously awaited the return of John B, Belle, and possibly Sarah. Instead, their eyes widened as a plane flew overhead, the unmistakable cargo of gold glimmering in the sunlight.
"There goes the gold," JJ remarked to Kie and Pope, his tone almost casual, though the gravity of the situation weighed heavily on all of them.
"Shit!" JJ exclaimed, kicking debris in frustration, his anger palpable.
"FUCK!" Pope yelled furiously, tossing items around the area, his emotions boiling over as he vented his rage.
"Pope!" Kie cried out, trying to intervene, but he was too far gone. He seized a baseball bat, smashing anything in reach until he finally exhausted himself, collapsing onto a nearby bench to catch his breath.
"Yeah, dude," JJ said, still in shock at the outburst.
"I was wondering when this was gonna happen," JJ added, handing Pope his weed pen. "Here, chief. A little weed won't hurt anyone."
"JJ, you know he doesn't smoke," Kie interjected, but surprisingly, Pope snatched the pen from JJ.
"I lost my scholarship and walked out in the middle of an interview. It's gone; it's not gonna happen," Pope admitted, taking a hit.
"You did that for us?" Kie asked, her eyes widening in astonishment.
"No, I did it for nothing," Pope replied bitterly, the weight of his choices evident in his tone.
