JOURNAL NOTE FROM AMELIA: PRESENT
Hey, dear Journal! It's been quiet a while, hasn't it? Anyway, life could be better. I finally had the guts to tell Richarlison that I want to end this marriage. It has surely shocked him, but by the way he has been behaving, he should have expected it. I still have a weird feeling in my stomach that it wasn't really a great choice, but maybe it's just a new start for me. The first appointment with the court would have been today, but unfortunately the appointment wasn't in the computer search, and that's why our appointment is on March 16, in 2 months :) It couldn't have gotten worse, but of course it did since I started acting like a complete bitch to Richy for no reason at all. I could accept Serena's invitation to take a week off work and travel to Portugal by myself in order to meet her because everything is exhausting me so much. I definitely need a break right now, but we'll see how the next few days go.
Amelia took her 30-minute break at the private hospital, using the time to jot down a note in her journal. She was lucky to have her journal with her to write down her thoughts. It was 8 o'clock in the evening. Amelia began working today at 2 p.m. and will finish at 10 p.m. She had the morning off, so she's doing the afternoon and evening hours now.
"What are you doing?" asked Isabella, sitting down in the free chair next to Amelia.
"Just writing some things." answered Amelia, looking up from the table to face Isabella.
To be completely honest, Amelia didn't have much of a liking for Isabella. While Isabella may have seemed sweet, her constant talk about her boyfriend's alleged extramarital affair was a topic Amelia found rather tiresome. Isabella's justifications for accusing her partner of infidelity were simply illogical. Amelia couldn't help but roll her eyes at Isabella's claims, like the time she accused her boyfriend of cheating just because he didn't respond to a text message for 20 minutes. It seemed utterly ridiculous to Amelia that Isabella would jump to such conclusions based on such trivial matters. And, let's not forget how Isabella always managed to drop the fact that she was dating Mason Mount into every conversation.
On the contrary, Amelia preferred to keep her relationship with Richarlison as private as possible. The spotlight and attention that came with being the center of public interest were things she actively avoided. She carefully curated a small circle of close friends and family who knew about her marriage to Richarlison. Whenever they were spotted by paparazzi, Richarlison would approach them, assertively explaining that their privacy was being invaded, and he would threaten legal action if any pictures were published without their consent. He made it a point to shield their personal lives from the prying eyes of the media, ensuring that no intimate moments found their way onto the internet.
Unlike some individuals who seek recognition solely based on their associations, Amelia had no interest in being known merely as Richarlson's wife. She found it more important to be recognized for her profession and passion as an exceptional nurse. Being known and respected for her skills and dedication in the medical field held much more significance to her than any other label.
Living in an area where people were aware of her marriage status and having a child was common knowledge, but she was grateful that no one seemed overly curious about the details. The lack of nosy questions gave Amelia a sense of relief and comfort, allowing her to focus on what truly mattered to her—her career, her family, and her genuine sense of self.
"Amelia, can I talk to you about something?" There is something that has been annoying Isabella, and she wants someone to talk about it, and Isabella thinks that Amelia is the right person.
