I slowly rise out of bed, reaching for the sealing as I stretch.

It might not be a huge deal to you, but today's a big day.

I'm going to work at Cass's bakery today, like really work.. of course only on days I don't normally go into school, but regardless I'm still excited.

I hop out of bed, scramble to hurry in the shower, get ready in the bathroom, get to my room and dress up.

Normal morning routine.

As I finished up in the mirror, I smile to myself with an unusual level of confidence rising in me.

Slipping on the apron Cass gave me the night prior, a gazes at myself in the mirror.

"I'm ready!"

As I walk into the living room, I find everyone is already out of the house. Well, with the exception of mochi.

I give her a head pat and grab a croissant for breakfast as I run through the door.

Sprinting down to the café, I find I was just on time for opening.

As Cass was unlocking the door she turned around hearing my thunderous heavy footsteps running out of the back.

"Ah, about time. I thought I'd need to open without you." She put her hand on her hip. "Don't be late next time or I'll have no choice but to fire you." She giggled.

I playfully roll my eyes as I walk up to her. "Yes ma'am." I laugh back.

"Hey, none of that sass missy." She strolled to behind the counter. "I don't want to scare away the customers. Now quit slacking and get back here." She waved me over, to which I excitedly gasped and practically skipped over.

"Oh, I can't wait Cass! What will you teach me first?? How to work the register? Oh! How to make the doughnuts? OH MY GOSH, will you show me how to make your famous cappuccinos--"

"Woah, woah!" She interrupted me as she threw her hands to her sides. "Slow down tiger. We haven't even got done cleaning yet." She laughed.

"Sorry, sorry" I stepped back and squared my shoulders. "What now then?"

She paused to think. "Well I didn't bother sweeping last night so ill need to run up to the apartment to grab the broom.. uh.." she looked around, noticing a bunch of glass cups in boxes on the floor. "Oh, I needed to stock these in the cupboards still, do you think you can start on that while I'm gone? It should only take a sec." She smiled to me, already grabbing her keys off a wall hook.

"Yeah! No problem. I've got it all covered." I nodded and made my way over to the boxes.

"Okay!" She walked off. "If anyone come in, give me a holler!" She said as she descended up the stairs.
