WALKING AROUND the corridors during the dead of the night wasn't the curly-haired girl's favourite activity. It truly was the opposite. Yet ironically, it was a regular routine for Alayah Levine and it seemed like it wouldn't be stopping anytime soon.

It's been something the Ravenclaw has been doing since her second year to try to help her sleep. Walk around the gigantic castle-like building until she started to feel exhausted and walked back to her common room.

Focusing back on her walk she noticed that she wasn't far from the Gryffindor common room and quickly changed directions, avoiding areas where she would surely get caught. The deep brown-eyed girl was avoiding detention at all costs since exams were coming up and she needed the extra study time.

As much as she'd tried to keep her voice down she was oh so bored. Especially after the first few weeks. So bored in fact, that sometimes she wished that Filch would catch her or try to at least. So she skipped or hummed some type of familiar tune to pass the time.

It was then that she heard muffled voices from around the corner. The deep brown-eyed girl quickly hid close to the wall almost sinking completely into the darkness hoping no one would catch her. When the voices or well people came around the corner she saw nothing yet she still heard them. Alayah heard her heart beat louder in her chest and all she could do was freak out. 'What on merlins left knee is happening right now? If it's one of those freaky ghosts again I might literally kill myself. Or them. Probably them...'

That was when she heard a tumble and quickly saw 4 familiar people just there, on the floor. The ravenclaw calmed down realizing the people in front of her are no threat. She then paid attention to the scene before her eyes and Alayah quickly covered her mouth. The girl tried not to laugh at the sight of the infamous marauders laying on the floor after falling so incredulously

"For Godric's sake Pads why'd you push me?" James said as he grabbed his glasses off the floor and tried not to laugh at the sight of Sirius face-first on the floor.

"I swear on my complete muggle music collection it wasn't me. IT WAS PROBABLY REMUS!" He quickly said and pointed an accusatory finger at the taller boy.

"Sirius, would you quiet down? I don't know about you but I wouldn't like it if Filch caught us after hearing you from all the way down by the Slytherin common room." Remus quickly said and then got up and dusted himself. At that, Levine had to physically stop herself from snickering.

Ignoring the scarred boy, Padfoot continued trying to prove his point to the Potter boy. "YOU SEE, HE'S GUILTY! Moony's trying to distract us because he did it. Ask Wormtail!" Hearing his name the smaller of the four rapidly shared his hands in front of him and backed away a bit, obviously not wanting to get in between them.

It was then that the girl broke. She couldn't stop herself and needed to let a small giggle out. Luckily, the four boys didn't hear as they were all too caught up in their own mess.

Several minutes later, the marauders left and it seemed like luck was on their side as they didn't get caught by the grumpy groundskeeper. She could feel her exhaustion catching up with her body and she started to walk back to her common room. Each and every painstaking step reminded her of how tired she truly was.

As she arrived at the common room she groaned to herself having forgotten all about the bothersome riddle she'd need to solve. Alayah knocked the knocker, as quietly as she could and waited for the riddle she'd surely have problems solving.

"Until I am measured, I am not known. Yet how you miss me when I have flown."

'Why the bloody hell would I know? Why don't you tell me.'

When she finally got the riddle and went in, the time read 4:27 and it seemed like she'd get less sleep than usual. Exams were always annoying, especially the O.W.Ls she'd be taking soon. The stress of studying and her grades have been getting to her and now their no target was her already chaotic sleep schedule, if you could even call it that.

'3 hours of sleep and skipping breakfast it is. I was craving some nice fluffy pancakes too.' The curly-haired girl then pouted and went to bed, dreaming of pancakes she'd never get.

idk how I feel about this, but maybe I'm just hating on my own work?

if you're wondering what the answer to the riddle is it's time!! anyways i hope you enjoying the story!!
