☠︎︎ENOCH POV☠︎︎

A tall man walks into my room, or the room I am forced to stay in, and quickly unstraps the restraints that hold me down to a bed. I immediately swing at him, a satisfying crack echoing through my ears. He lets out an ear-splitting screech that brings a smile to my face. Blood drips slowly from his injured nose and lands in a puddle by my feet. I step in it curiously and watch blood soak through the white bottoms of my sneakers.

Serves him right.

"Hey! I'm just letting you go!"
He is crouched over at my mercy, obviously much weaker than I am despite giving off an intimidating look. I laugh, "Really?"
"We can't use you for anything.". He replies, cold eyes meeting mine in a glare. He wipes blood away from his face in defeat; a hopeless action, because each time he opens his mouth to speak more blood drips out. The crimson liquid had streaked down his face and collected on his tongue. I cover my mouth with my hand and suffocate myself to prevent a guffaw from leaving me. I think it's hilarious how he's tried to scare me the past few days but shied away at the first hit I made.
"Get out of my way, then."
He doesn't move, trying to act tough and keep authority on me. But not even an ynbryne could tell me what to do, so that doesn't work very well for him. In one swift motion, I lift my leg and kick him directly in the abdomen. He pathetically falls to the floor with a groan. I would love to stay here and bathe in my badassness, but I need to go find my friends. I step over his whining body and push through the heavy metal doors.

"Enoch!" Someone calls. I search for the direction of the voice, but fail to see anyone, anywhere.

"Bronwyn? Emma, Jacob, Noor? Horace? Where are you guys?" I shout. I take a few hesitant steps down the hall, feet thumping against the tiled floor. I feel something squish under my foot; another puddle of blood, this one with a trail leading past a large stretch of hospital doors and turning into a gaping hole in the wall. I can't see anything within the area beyond; shadows swallow the hole, leaving behind only a mystery I'm yet to solve. Particles and dust layer the floor while chunks of brick are exposed within the building's structure. The fresh smell of fire and burning on the other side of the pitch-black void draw me in.

"Enoch!" The same voice shouts, but this one is clear and loud; inside the darkness. I can tell it's Bronwyn calling, her strong voice slightly wavering.
Something is wrong. What's she afraid of?
I tighten my fists as I stride into the ink, immediately being taken over by anxiousness. My eyes adjust a bit to the dark and I start to make out basic shapes; chunks of rubble coat the floor. I see something moving toward me, fast. I took too long to notice it to get away before it yanks me by the arm. I stumble back; or at least try to, in attempt to escape the firm grip of the curious figure.

"It's me, Bronwyn!" The figure shouts. I look harder to find that it's telling the truth. She is my friend.

"You scared me! Hiding in the dark like that!"
"There's no time for arguing! The rest are waiting for us; we need to go!" She yells, slightly frustrated.

I manage to stay annoying and roll my eyes, but let her drag me along a shadow-engulfed path and into a room with no ceiling. Light seeps in and I can finally see.

I can hear chatter from behind a door on the opposite wall; Bronwyn shoves it open in a panic and throws me toward Emma, Jacob, and Noor, who were waiting for us outside.

"Finally! Come on!" Emma say's impatiently. We start booking it down a tall and grassy hill. Our surroundings look too peaceful for what we had just been in; the grass bright green and blooming flowers everywhere, the sun shines without a cloud in the sky. I look at all my friends and freeze. They continue running while I fall behind, scanning the area for something lost.
