Y/N sat on the sand at Briny Beach and stared at the waves. It was a sunny and pleasant day, but strangely, the beach wasn't crowded.

It had been over a year since the Baudelaires left. After the fire at Hotel Denouement, the enemies hadn't kept quiet. There had been numerous fires, literally and figuratively. Her training had been relentless until last month when she'd officially been invited into V.F.D. as a volunteer. Her strengths were jiujitsu (she had gotten personal lessons from her mother), archery, and baking. Her weakness was stamina. But, she always went out on a run early in the morning to improve it.

I know right? That doesn't sound like Y/N at all.

However, after witnessing the tragedy at Hotel Denouement, Y/N realised that she needed to be more vigilant than ever, and so, her relentless training began.

Gazing at the water always seemed to calm her mind a little, which is why she came to Briny Beach every week.

She scanned the sea. Her eyes widened. She saw a very familiar boat.

She gasped. "Is that-"

It was.

Sailing on a brown boat were Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire. Surprisingly, there also seemed to be another toddler.

The Baudelaires seemed shocked to find Y/N there before laughing happily and waving.

Y/N chuckled and waved back.

The boat eventually walked up on shore, and each of the Baudelaires stepped out.

Y/N looked at Klaus, but he was already looking at her. Y/N chuckled to herself. How did he always manage to look at her first?

Y/N ran up to him and threw her hands around his neck. He laughed and hugged her back, lifting and spinning her off the ground.

Violet held the hands of the two toddlers and silently walked away, not wanting to disturb the reunion.

Klaus was beyond elated to see Y/N again. It'd been a torturous year without her. He placed her back on the ground and gazed into her eyes. How did she manage to get more beautiful each time he saw her? He brushed a piece of hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear.

Y/N felt her heart racing as she too, gazed into his chocolate-brown eyes.

"You waited." He stated.

"As I promised." She replied, smiling.

Y/N held Klaus's hand. He intertwined their fingers and began leading them along the shore.

"Now," she started to speak. "Tell me everything that happened last year."

"I might, if you go out on a date with me," Klaus said cheekily.

Y/N raised one eyebrow.

Klaus looked away and blushed.

"Klaus Baudelaire, are you asking me out on a date?"

"Yes, I am, Y/N Astor."

"You saying my full name sounds weird."

"Would you rather have it being 'Y/N Baudelaire'?"

Y/N blushed a crimson red.

"Wh-Did you just-huh-" she stuttered.

Klaus laughed loudly, clearly enjoying seeing Y/N flustered.

"Well, Y/N, will you go out on a date with me?"

"Yes, Klaus," Y/N answered, still not recovered from his previous comment.

Klaus smiled widely.

The pair continued walking along the shore, when Y/N let go of Klaus's hand to reach into her jacket pocket.

She pulled out a bar of chocolate.

"Would you like some chocolate?" She asked.
