Chapter 9: "And what did you understand about me Alex..."

Alex POV

As I was preparing for my meeting with Elizabeth Olsen, I cleaned up and took everything that I needed for work since after that, I should have been at the Hospital.
Ready, I took the car and went out parking the location Elizabeth sent me.

Not attracting too much attention, I entered the cafeteria and with my gaze I found her in a corner in disguise to not be recognized, or at least that was the goal.
Inevitably I could only think about how sad and tiring it was not being able to even have coffee without anyone wanting something from you: lately people were so obsessed with VIPs that they could think them as gods, when in reality they were simple people with needs and desires, just like us.

Slowly I approached her and greeted her a little embarrassed as I took my seat.

"Hey...forgive me if i was late. I hope I didn't make you wait too long..." I admitted hoping I didn't make her stay alone for much.

"Don't worry, I just got here..."

We ordered two cappuccinos and in the meantime we talked about whatever was on our mind.

"...so...how is it going with the Band? IBS if I'm not mistaken, right?"
"IBS exactly...!"

💭She remembered...wow!

"...Unfortunately we were all a bit busy because of work..."
"Too bad...are the others in the band doctors?"
"Not really... we went together at the university, but not all of them did medicine, the smartest ones chose nursing or something else..." I jokingly admitted making her laugh

"...but tell me...what kind of music do you listen to?"
"A bit of everything really...I like Rosalía... Fleetwood Mac... but I'm not a disco person... I don't know, let's say I prefer something else!"
"Why not the disco?!"
"I swear...it's something I've never connected with..."
"I adore Abba... it will probably be -Mamma Mia-'s fault too, I can't hide it from you!"
"Oh -Mamma Mia-? So you have seen that but not -WandaVision-...now yes I can be offended..."
"Oh c'mon...and if you really want to know, I saw the first episode of the series..."

At that moment Elizabeth smiled amused and seemed pretty curious at the revelation

"...And...? What do you think about it?"
"...I really enjoyed it, even if having missed a few Marvel movies I definitely missed some references, easter eggs or other stuff too..."
"You will see that the more you see, the more you will understand the story, especially Wanda's...but yes, I don't want to spoil you too much right now!"
"...No spoilers, thanks! Elise's already made too many for me!"
"Well, that seems fair to me, after all she will have educated you in time for the WandaVision panel..."
"She tried at least! But tell me... what is it like to play a character like Wanda? Do you like it?"
"I think the reason I really liked Wanda from the beginning is that she's very clear in her beliefs. Later she sure will have her own realizations about her and will admit when she makes mistakes, but the Her right now like knows exactly what she wants, and she doesn't want to apologize for it...
But yes, you must know that I love playing characters whose actions people disagree with..."

I remained silent the whole time, and carefully treasured her words.

"...In a world where we don't really care to understand other points of view, I feel that if we as an audience can have empathy for people we disagree with, that's a good thing. Then I can be kind of be their lawyer and defend them. I get behind their actions, even if I don't agree with them...for example...in my next project I'll play an assassin...do I agree with that? No..."

"Always very chill characters I must say..."
" ...what can I say, I like damaged characters, I think I look for damaged characters more, or at least, this is what I get sent the most, haha!"

The coffees arrive, but undisturbed we continued to talk from time to time enjoying the time together behind that cup of coffee.

"...You are so easy to talk to..."
"Perhaps because I like to listen and understand more about someone..."
"And what did you understand about me Alex...?"
"...I don't know, but I intend to find out..."
