You looked up at the man, er, Hawks. His gaze was on the floor. You wondered if he was alright. The ice pack on the back of your head felt freezing all of a sudden. You weren't even hurt that badly. Though, you would be lying if you said you didn't appriciate the hero being there.
You smiled to yourself. "Hey, I'm gonna be okay by myself now. You're free to go," you offered him the smile now. He smirked as his eyes met yours. "Actually this is perfect; I get to have a little break from my job,"
You nodded, understanding. 'So he's just doing this to have a break. Cool...'
"- and I get to spent time with such a lovely person." He continued. Your eyes opened a bit more now as you glanced at him. You felt you cheecks get hot. Maybe you should put the ice pack on your cheecks...
Was he flirting with you? Noo, he was just being friendly. You mumbled a quiet 'thanks', still flustered. You wished he couldn't see your face.
Hawks laughed. "So, I haven't seen you before. Did you move here or something?" he asked, just to be sure if he'll be seeing you again.
"Actually I'm visiting-" you cut yourself off as a familiar face appeared in your sight.
"Yo, (Y/n)! I got you thee... um..." your cousin trailed off as he saw Hawks. "- him," you finished. Hawks nodded and looked Jesse up and down. Jesse raised an eyebrow at the two of you. "Sould we get back?" he asked after a short pause. You quickly got up from the bench.
"Thank you Hawks. I really appriciate it," you smiled at him again. He looked a bit taken aback. "A-ah, yeah, you're welcome."
As you left the scene with Jesse, Hawks couldn't help but stare at you. There was an odd feeling growing inside the back of his head. He narrowed his eyes. Who was that guy? Why did you leave with him?
He shrugged it off. The whole situation was strange...
-
You looked upon Jesse. He said he started feeling sick out of nowhere. All of the colors from his face were gone. He was laying on a couch. You scratched the back of your head."Are you-"
"(Y/n), I have work tomorrow!" he sighed. You knew that. "U-huh?" you nodded. If Jesse was sick, somebody would need to replace him.
"Could you... Could you go instead?" he asked, almost passing out. There was a moment of silence.
"Sure I'll do it..." you sighed. Jesse gave you a weak smile. You put your hand on his forehead. He was burning.
You had no clue what was going on with him. AND what you should do with him. So you just decided to let him rest on the couch. You went into the guest room (that was now yours.)
You laid down on the bed. You met Hawks. Your lips twisted into an awkward smile. Great. Though, you hoped he liked you. Obviously you wouldn't be seeing him again... Right?
