Attorney Owolabi M. Salis is a renowned attorney at law and certified public accountant who has achieved several milestones in his illustrious career. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria's premier federal government research university. The institution, founded in 1962, operates three main campuses, one of which is the Kongo campus that hosts the faculties of law and administration where Salis studied. It is also home to one of Nigeria's largest teaching hospitals.
Salis furthered his academic pursuits by studying at the University of Lagos, a prestigious public research institution in Lagos, Nigeria. He graduated with his Legum Baccalaureus in law. Salis holds numerous professional memberships and associations, including being a New York State Bar Association member and accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, among others.
As a multi-award-winning attorney and certified public accountant, Salis has an impressive list of professional skills, including contract disputes, corporate services, immigration advisory and applications, international litigation and arbitration, real estate sale and management, taxation advisory and preparation, and trust management, among others.
Salis is also a dedicated philanthropist and is involved in various good causes. He supports charities such as the African Diaspora Network, American Civil Liberties Union, Amnesty International, Equity Union, Nigerian Boys Scout, Retired and Old People's Foundation, The University of Lagos Kegites Club, and the United Nations, among others. He is the founder of the Niger Delta Peoples Development, a New York-based organization that focuses on fighting for the causes most important to Niger Delta people living in the United States.
Salis has received several awards, such as the Best Governorship Candidate for Peace, Bond 92.9 FM Man of the People Award, Distinguished Men of Achievement Award, Lagos State Police Command Peace Award, Recognition for Patriotic and Selfless Service to Nigeria, and University of Lagos Distinguished Alumnus.
Aside from his legal work, Attorney Owolabi M. Salis enjoys traveling, having visited over 100 countries worldwide. He is passionate about supporting community-focused initiatives that advance the interests of less privileged members of society in the U.S., Nigeria, and elsewhere around the world.
