Part 4: Nyctophobia

Still Kait's 3rd person POV

Kait looked at Sabre, then Goggles. Everyone except Sabre seemed a bit tense. "What do you mean you don't trust me?" Goggles asked. Colle watched from a little ways behind Goggles, still feeding the parrot some seeds.

Sabre then started to yell, "I mean, we don't trust you! You're probably going to do some kind of experiments on us! And try to... I don't know, DISSECT US? WERE NOT GOING ANYWHERE WITH YOU!". Sabre seemed like he was crying after yelling that. Everyone, including Kait, was bit shocked at Sabre's mini rant.

Sabre took a step back, but his other foot didn't touch the ground, instead it went through it. Sabre fell through the floor while yelling. Rainbow Steve tried to grab him but fell in too. Kait was surprised by them falling and jumped back. But she too, fell through the floor. She heard Goggles and Colle yell something before she fell.

Kait landed on a moist carpet. She heard buzzing above her. She sat up and looked around. The walls and floor were a pale-yellow color, and the ceiling looked like a classroom ceiling. They were in some kind of room with a large, empty doorway. She heard Sabre groan. She turned and saw him sitting up and looking around. Rainbow Steve was laying down next to Sabre.

"What happened?" Sabre said bringing his hand to his forehead. "We fell." Kait said deadpan. Sabre looked more confused than before. He turned to Rainbow Steve and shook him. He grumbled but didn't wake up. "Rainbow Steve wake up" Sabre annoyedly said. Rainbow Steve rolled over but didn't wake up. Sabre sighed, "this is usually the other way around, huh?" He chuckled then looked at Rainbow Steve.

"Rainbow Steve" He stated, "I will throw away ALL of your sticks if you don't wake up now!" As soon as he said that Rainbow Steve jolted up and smacked Sabre. Sabre yelled in pain while Rainbow looked around, "one, DON'T YOU DARE THROW AWAY MY STICKS! Two, WHERE ARE WE?" He yelled once he woke up.

Then, they heard a voice from the doorway "Shhh, you're going to draw attention!" Kait looked over and saw that it was Xeno. Sabre questioned "who the heck are you?" Xeno shushed him. "Glad to see your still alive Xeno" Kait said to her. Xeno looked at them and said, "so are you guys going to get up are you just going to just let the monsters find and eat you?" Rainbow Steve was alarmed by what she had said and exclaimed, "W-What? Monsters?!"

Kait was a mix of scared and excited by the idea of monsters. She was always happy to learn more. "Monsters?" she asked as she stood up. Xeno sighed and said, "yeah, this isn't the best place... It's like a maze, and there's a lot of monsters. The main one that I've found kinda looks like a 5-year old's stick figure but fast, loud, and tall." Sabre chuckled at the idea of a stick figure monster, while Kait got out a notebook and pen and got ready to write.

Xeno chuckled at Kait's eagerness to learn. Rainbow Steve asked, "Where did you even get that? You didn't have it on you a few minutes ago" Kait shrugged, she wasn't entirely sure herself. It's like she just summoned it. Xeno then said, "aright, we have to get a move on, we can't stay in one place for too long." she then started to walk away and gestured for the others to follow.

Sabre and Rainbow Steve glanced at each other, then followed behind her. Xeno started to explain what she knew about this place to Kait, while Kait took notes very quickly. Kait never knew how smart Xeno could be in survival. That same day, she had tried to cook a hotdog in water with the bun and condiments on. She would have never guessed that she would survive more than 2 minutes anywhere with bloodthirsty monsters.

Xeno eventually led them to a blank wall. "Why are we here?" Rainbow asked. Xeno then hit the wall with her elbow, and it nudged a bit. She looked a bit annoyed and pushed it open. There was a room inside, and it looked similar to where they originally started in. There were a few differences though, there was a map craved into the wall, a few bottles of what Kait guessed was almond water in the corner, and a lantern in the middle of the room.
