"Please tell me you know where we're going?." I asked Cole as we drove up and down the streets of a very dark neighbourhood.
"Ya, I come to this guys party all the time. We're good buddies." Cole assured me.
"Ok." I agreed.
"There it is" Cole half shouted as he parked on the side of the road, stumbling distance from the house. We sat in the car for a few moments while we got our shit together. I reapplied my lipstick as Cole scrolled through Facebook.
"Ready?" I asked Cole.
"Yeah." he responded. Cole swiftly walked around the car and opened my door. As I stood up I caught a whiff of his cologne. I almost died. Cole and I walked up to the front yard, the only people outside were the people walking in. I thought there would be more drunk people already.
"Sweetcheeks, if you're wondering why there aren't more drunk people here, it's because Jason is really responsible. He is also very popular and can hook people up with concert tickets. His parties stay inside and the music isn't super loud past midnight. Slow dancing start then. The only way people get Alcohol is if they are of legal age or are tight buds with Jason. So you may or may not get some warm beer tonight." Cole informed me. Cole grabbed my hand as we entered a very big house, fist pumped some of his boys with his free hand.
"Yo, Levi! Long time no see, bro." Cole let go of my hand to give this guy a bro hug
"Bro, you too! Yo, I banged this new girl last and she didn't sneak out this morning! I think she wants me."
"No, she wanted to leave with her pride. This is my girlfriend, Caitlyn." Cole informed Levi while wrapping his arm around my waist. "Levi, look how easy it is to get a girl with out having sex with her first. " Cole joked.
"Well at least I get the dirty work done first." Levi defended.
"Alright whatever man, I'm going to go get my lady a drink. Try not to get into some girls pants for at least 45 minutes, will you?" Cole chuckled.
He followed me through the crowd to get some drinks. I had no idea where to go so I took Coles hand and traded places with him so that I was following him. There was so many people and I don't know anyone.
We made it through the crowd of people after what seemed like years. There was so many lights and the music is so loud.
"What do you want to drink?" Cole asked me, placing his arm around my waist.
"Piña Colada. Virgin." I responded. Cole put in our orders as I reached for his hand, I'm not used to big parties like this.
After about five minutes we got our drinks. I heard Blame by Calvin Harris blasting through the speakers. Oh this song is my jam. I took Coles hand and lead out of the kitchen.
"Babe, where are we going?"
"You took my to this party, so now you have to dance with me."
"No. I don't dance." he protested
"C'mon just two songs?" I compromised.
"Fine."
I found a spot to put our drinks as we made our way to the dance floor. The thing about Cole is that he's not actually a good dancer, but tonight he didn't do so bad. I'm impressed.
By the end of the song I was really thirsty. I needed my tropical goodness. When I took a sip, I realized my Piña Colada didn't taste quite right. I looked around the house to find Cole talking to some of his boys. I signalled him over to me. He excused himself from his friends and walked over to me. Holy. Shit. He is one sexy human.
"What's up?" he questioned.
"Does this taste funny to you?" I asked.
"It's a Piña Colada of course it tastes funny, they're gross."
"No, seriously. Taste it." Cole took a sip, shaking his head. Signaling me that he doesn't like it. I chuckled at his reaction.
"If tastes fine for a Piña Colada." I nodded in response, silently questioning Coles taste buds. He's done all sorts of things so I guess if someone spiked my drink, then he'd know.
"Caitlyn, just let it go. If someone put alcohol in your drink then it probably won't be enough to get to get you drunk." he said, cupping my face with his hands. "Why don't we go dance for a few songs?"
"Okay!!" I finished my drink and flung my cup over my shoulder, even though I could get in trouble for doing that. I took Coles hand as he lead me to the middle of the dance floor. Bang Bang by Jessie J, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande filled the room. I don't really like this song but I can turn up... to say the least. Like, it goes down when I dance to this song. I don't want to go into full details of what happens so I won't. It's just too much, okay?! A few songs after the mood changed with Kiss Me by Ed Sheeran.
Without words Cole Pulled me so close, to the point where there were no longer space between us. We swayed to the beat of the music. I rest my head on his shoulder and took a deep breath, allowing my whole body to relax. I closed my eyes and I let my body be one with Coles. I love him so, so much. When the song ended, the craving for sleep came over me. We've only been here for like three hours, how am I tired?
"Can we leave?" I asked Cole, trying to act as tired as possible without looking fake.
"How are you tired? We've only been here for like three hours."
"I'm wondering the same thing. Please, I want to go home." I begged as he looked at my like he's my parent or something. I stood up on my tip-toes and whispered in his ear. "We'll have more fun in my room than here." I stepped back with my arms folded across my chest and my mischievous expression to see Cole, with an expression of his own. The very expression he gets when trying to decide between Skittles and Sour Patch Kidz. In this case, Skittles are the equivalent of staying and this party and Sour Patch Kidz are the equivalent of going back to me house. Decisions, decisions.
"Let me go say goodbye to Levi." And he gives in. Girlfriend-1. Parties-0.
