Being a Maguire isn't easy, especially when your the youngest. At the age of 14, my oldest brother being in prison. One of my brothers moved out not long you were born but your other four brothers were long gone school and extremely protective. Only one sibling was really relatable. Your Mandy, she was 16 there wasn't such a big gap between you and you loved that. Carl Gallagher has been your best friend since day one. You didn't have many friends mainly cause everyone feared you but Carl, he was different he was the best.

"Mam, I'm going out!" She walks to the front door. She looks at you and closes the door. "Take these to Donny near the alleyway!" you nod and leave. Carl met you at the alleyway. "Hold on, Don Mam's given me these," You hand him a package. "Any message Maddy." You shake your head and leave. You guys go hang for a bit then you head home as Mandy boyfriend walks in with your brothers.

"You know why we bought you. Our Mandy can't keep secrets. Not from her mother. I only have to look in them pretty brown eyes to know exactly what is going on, up here. She's very precious to us our Mandy. One out of our two only daughters. And you've turned her into a woman. Welcome to the family." You looked confused then looked at Mandy. You were going to be an auntie. "Hey Hey" you heard your dad say as one of the boys turnt the stereo on and passed over beers. "Hey, my Mimi was up the duff when we got hitched. Don't you worry about it. Hey, well done! Here's to you son. And we're gonna be grandparents!" You look at Mandy she was smiling but not her normal smile. "Have a drink Ian." You hear your mum say as your brother passes you a can.

A couple days later, your dad had dragged you and your brothers to the jockey. "Come on Ian" They all shouted as Ian downed a pint. "He's done it" Another one said, then they burdst out laughing, you walked to the bar. "A coke please!" The bar lady looks at you and smiles then passes you a coke. You walk back to the table, "What's he looking at?" Your dad ask pointing at a drunken man with long greasy black hair, and a old green coat. "Oi, want a fucking picture? Get him over here now. You mind out letting your brothers get to him. "Hey, hey. No, it's -- No it's all right. I'll just -- Ian. Ian. I'll come quietly. Jesus. Ian" Ian, Ian." Your dad stands up. "What the fuck are you doing here?" The drunken man asks Ian. Your dad silences him. "You know this Joke, Ian?" He looks up quietly. "Yeah, that's my dad." There's silence, you look at Ian, "Granddaddy Gallagher, huh?" Your dad blurts out then the boys laugh. "Yeah, well, it's a good job you found a proper family to belong to. Was there something else?" Your dad asks the Gallagher man. "What? No." He says scared. "Well, piss off back under your stone." Your dad shouts back at him. The boys let go and Mr Gallagher goes back to his bar stool. "Drink up! We'll get you another at the Crosses." You and the boys all leave.

It was late afternoon, nearly Mandy's party when you turnt up at the Gallagher's. You were stood next to Donny, he had his arm around you. You were stood opposite Carl, he gave you a devious look. You climbed in the car when you felt an hand touch your lower back it was a boy's hand you never saw who's tho. The jockey was full, loud music and boos for everyone. It was a laugh, dancing with your dad and brothers, stealing some of the boys pints. It was crazy but you loved it. "Okay, everybody, everybody, can I have your attention, please? Pray silence for the master of ceremonies. Now, then as the old saying goes, we're not so much losing a daughter as gaining a son, and we want our Mandy to be happy. And I know this young fella's gonna make her happy. He better had, cause if he doesn't, I'll kill him" your dad says before laughing followed by an echo of laughter. "They've a young baby on the way, and I know he's gonna make a great father. So I want you all to raise your glasses for a toast. To Mandy and Ian." Everyone repeats in unison 'To Mandy and Ian' "Call it off." Another boy who must be a Gallagher as you saw him earlier outside their home. "Call it off" He shouts again. "Call it off, The whole things a joke." Your dad doesn't even hesitate, "Donny get him out off here." Donny bolts for him. "The baby's mine." The Gallagher boy exclaims. Mandy drops her glass and Ian looks surprised. "I'm sorry" Mandy cries out. "I should off told you Ian." Ian flips, "You bastard!" he runs at him. They start on each other. Your dad grabs the Gallagher boy, "Tell me your lying!" He says nothing. "Tell me your lying!" Your dad orders again. He headbutts him. Then punches him. "Get your hands off him!"
