Ever since that Brazilian boa constrictor accident daddy had been in a horrible mood. He barely spoke and would always grunt whenever we tried talking to him.

"Get the mail, Dudley," said mom.

"Make Lily get it." I looked up from my book. It was quite an interesting read and I swore to myself yesterday that I'd never put it down. Larry Hotter and the philosopher's stone.

"Get the mail, Lily."

"Make Dudley get it." He could definitely use some exercise . The last I remember Dudley running was when were were 4 years old and that was only because I stole one of his many trains.

"I'll poke you with my Smelting stick."

I scoffed. With my nose still hooked on the book I went to get the mail.

I threw the three letters on the table. It was truly tragic what was happening to this Larry fellow. His parents were killed and he had to live with his awful aunt and uncle who abused him emotionally and physically. If I lived in that kind of environment I would have run away from home or something.

"P-P-Petunia!" Daddy suddenly gasped. I looked up to see him a thick envelope made of yellowish parchment.

Dudley tried to grab the letter but daddy pushed away Dudley's face with his gigantic hand.

"Get out Dudley. We have to talk to your sister about something."

"Why can't I hear?! We always do things together!" Dudley yelled.

That's true. Dudley and I did almost everything together. We didn't really get along well but we did like being around each other.

"Why can't he stay?" I asked.

"Yeah why can't he stay!" Dudley yelled.

"Out!" Daddy roared. He threw Dudley out of the room and into the hall.

"Vernon, they want to take her away." Mom whispered. "They know everything, they know were she sleeps! They're watching us!"

"Watching-spying-might be following us." Daddy muttered looking around wildly.

"But what should we do, Vernon? Should we let her go? Tell her we aren't-"

"Tell me what?" I said, standing up. They seem to have forgotten I was in the room. Too caught up in their fear.

"Little witch you might want to sit down for this?"

"What's happening?" I asked. I had a feeling something big was about to be revealed to me and I wasn't going to like it.

"Vernon no-" mom said in a quivering voice.

"Pet she was going to find out one day."

"Find out what?" I was getting a bit impatient. My curiosity was driving me mad.

Daddy's face became void of any emotion.

"Lily," oh shit. I knew it was bad when daddy called me Lily. "We aren't your parents; I am your uncle and Petunia is your aunt."

"What?" I muttered.

His lips carried on moving but I couldn't hear a single thing.

"What?" I repeated.

"My sister, Lily, her name was Lily is your mother." Mom began feverishly. "You were left on our doorstep in a blanket with a letter attached to your forehead. Your parents were killed and they dumped you on our doorstep," I swallowed hard," I tried to hate you. To despise everything you are but I couldn't."

"Lily we are still your parents and you having magic doesn't change that." Daddy said quickly.

"What?" I was beginning to sound like a broken record.

"You're a witch. Your mom was one and so was your father."

"What?" A neglected broken record.

"Lily listen to me," mom held my face. "This doesn't change anything. You're still my little princess." She said with watery eyes.

I knew they were dead serious. They lied to me.

Dudley wasn't my twin brother.

"When were you going to tell me?"

They looked away.

"You were never going to tell me were you?!"

"We were hoping you weren't going to have magic-"

"Then what?! You were going to let me live my entire life not knowing who my real parents are!"

"We are your real parents!" Daddy roared. "Your parents ran and fought in a dumb war knowing very well that they could die. They didn't think about who you'd be left with if they died."

"Vernon-"

"We've done everything for you! We did everything they should have done. We loved you. Fed you and even began saving up for you to go to Harvard! We thought about your future." He spat.

I swallowed hard. I didn't know what to say. I didn't know what to do. I don't even know wether or not I actually want to know about my parents.

I blinked back tears. "Can I read the letter?"

Mom handed me the letter. Could I still call them that? Mom and Daddy.
