Farewell

Marriage Proposal

"Where did you go your highness?" his aid asked him as he climbed into his room through the window.

"Oh, quit whining. I was just making my way to the banquet as per father's order but as I was heading there I met a person." the prince said as he sat down at the table in the middle of the room and his aid pour him a cup of tea

"And?" the aid asked him 

"A woman." the prince said to the aid and the aid smiled, their prince has not taken any liking to any of the women in their kingdom even though he is now 22. 

"Oh? And who might she be?" the aid asked him and he chuckled 

"I don't know, but she was like a rabbit running away from a predator." the prince said and the aid sighs, remembering his master's personality. The prince loves to trick people and prank them, he is strict to a certain point but not interested in people much.

"I'm glad to hear that you found someone you're interested in." his aide said to him and he chuckled as he started taking off his clothes and got into bed. 

The following day Bai Qing rushed to the princess's palace with her sister, Bai Ling knocked on the door while Bai Qing waited outside the door as they waited for permission to enter the room

"Come in." the princes said to the two of them and the two of them walked into the room, the other walked out of the room and the two of them walked over to the princess to help her with her hair and makeup or so they should but Bai Qing sat there watching her sister does the work. 

"Qing-Qing, where were you last night?" The princess asked her and she chuckled 

"Sneaking around in the kitchen." Bai Qing said to the princess and her sister shook her head 

"I knew you were going to be in there." the princess said and the two of them share a laugh

"What else did you do last night?" the princess asked her and she chuckled 

"I stole some of Brother Ning's wine." Bai Qing said and Bai Ling looked at her 

"I've told you not to do that!" Bai Ling said to her and she chuckled 

"Right, next time you should bring me some. I hear that the wine made by A'Ning sells for a great amount of money." The princess said and the two of them agreed 

"That is true. The wine made by brother is fragrant and sweet." Bai Ling said to the princess

"Now I'm intrigued, have A'Ning bring me a jug tonight and the four of us can share it together." the princess said and at that moment the voice of the prince could be heard from the window

"Is that what the princess and the lady in waiting should be doing?" the prince asked them and the three of them turned to look at the open window 

"Greeting to the prince." the twin said to the prince and he chuckled 

"We should share it together, I'll tell Wu Ning about it. Tonight at my palace." he said to them and he walked away from the window. 

Later on, the three of them went on a walk but the princess forgot something so Bai Qing went back to the princess's room to get it. 

As Bai Ling and the princess were walking in the garden while waiting for Bai Ning, someone approached the two of them 

"We meet again." the young man said to Bai Ling but  she has not seen him before in her life, she smile and nodded her head at the man thinking that he had probably just mistaken her for her sister 

"You're less talkative than last night." the man said to her and she looked at the princess and back at the man 

"I'm sorry but you met my lady-in-waiting last night?" the princess asked him and he nodded

"So you're a lady in waiting? You certainly didn't look like one last night while drinking on the rooftop." he said to her and Bai Ling smile and nodded

"Who might you be?" the princess asked him and he smile 

"I am the prince of the Su kingdom and who are you?" the prince asked her and she smile 

"I am the princess of the Min kingdom." the princess said to him and the two exchanged greetings 

"We should get going your Highness." his aid reminded him and the two of them looked at the two of them and with a smile the two men walked away from the garden. 

As the men walked away they heard Bai Qing 

"Who was that?" Bai Qing asked as she slowly walked up to the princess and her sister

"You met a man yesterday?!" Bai Ling asked her and Bai Qing's smile dropped as she backed away from her sister 

"That-that was an accident! I don't know who he was either. I bumped into a man as I was making my way back from the kitchen, I ran as quickly as I could back to my room but after I finished dinner he showed up outside my room." Bai Qing quickly confessed

"It's fine, it doesn't look like the prince meant any harm." the princess said to the two of them and they went on with their days as they always do. They didn't know what was about to happen to them. 

After the people from the Su kingdom left for about 3 months, there was news that they'd sent an ambassador over to the Min kingdom; asking for a marriage from the Min kingdom. At first, they were worried that they would have to send their princess away and also because the princess already had a lover but instead, it was asking for the lady in waiting of the princess, Bai Ling. 

However, Bai Ling has already been engaged and that was to none other than the crown prince of the Min kingdom. So of course the Min kingdom refused the marriage proposal and a week later a threatening letter was sent to the Min kingdom that if they do not agree, the Su kingdom will start a war.
