Part 9: Contract and Hero Killer

A few days were left as school free days so the Heroes could send in Internship offers and the school could organise them properly.

We head in on the Friday after the Sports Festival.

"Alright everyone, I'll be handing out the lists of Internships you were offered. Top five are Yagi, you got three thousand. Bakugo, three thousand and five hundred, Todoroki you got a strong four thousand. Clawthorne female got five thousand. Clawthorne male you got nine thousand and eight hundred... Normally it's a bit more spread out but we have a few outlier students this year" Aizawa hands me a massive book of paper.

I stare at the amount in shock before simply starting.

The top ten wants me...

Top fifty all want me...

Top hundred...

"This is fucking stupid! The entire top 1500 want me! Fuck it, sorting spell" I cast it. "Search for Underground Heroes"

The last few pages are split off and certain names highlighted.

"Much better" I incinerate the rest of them. "Everyone knows Underground Heroes do the most important stuff"

I look through the very small set of papers and see quite a few I recognise from when I was analysing Heroes as a kid.

I pick the obvious choice.

"Aizawa I'll be with you for the week" I speak up.

"Ok, be out the front of UA at 9PM sharp, be ready for a week of no sleep"

I nod.

Witches can convert Magic into energy so we have much more stamina than humans do.

I watch Iida from the corner of my eye and see my suspicions this morning to correct.

He's bloodthirsty over the fact the Hero Killer paralyzed his brother.

I look to Amity who had noticed the same thing.

I lift an eyebrow and she nods.

I'll heal his brother.

But I'll make a contract with him.

If he breaks it the price will be his brothers' legs.

At lunch I get Iida's attention and gesture for him to come over.

He comes over and I move a seat to his side as he sits.

"What's going on Clawthorne?"

"I have a deal I want to make with you, the price is that you don't hunt down the Hero Killer" Iida stands instantly and goes to leave.

"I have no clue what you're talking about"

"Even if it means your brother remaining in a wheelchair for life? I can heal him" My words freeze him midstep.

"That's nothing to joke about Clawthorne" His voice had gone cold.

"Good thing I'm not, I can heal him. But you need to sign a contract bound by my Magic to not go after the Hero Killer. I'll handle that fucker... Permanently"

He return to sit across from me.

"Good. I've drawn up a simple contract. From my side it requires that I heal your brother, on yours it requires you not take an Internship in Hosu and not enter the city till the end of Internships, even to see your brother. If you break this your Brothers'legs will be rendered inoperable again, and unhealable by any means. If I break it, I have to heal your brother within a month and help to kill the Hero Killer lest I lose my Magic" Not true, I just can't cast spells for a few weeks. "I won't be able to render this Null, it will become nigh indestructible and both of us will have a copy. Once the contract is completed it will turn to dust. If broken it will burn to ash"
