As much as I loved toying with Quinn's anger towards me, we still had a common goal to accomplish. So now we were headed to the meeting to plan an act of justice; a death sentence.

When the courts decreed Richies murder as self defence that's when I went back to Wayne Bailey, despite barely knowing him. There was no way to rely on the broken justice system anymore, so we had plotted to take it into our own hands. Their mother left them, disagreeing with the cause but the family that was left still stood strong. Strong enough, anyways.

My own part to play was just by being Ethan's girlfriend, as we started dating merely weeks after the funeral. I was to hold and create convincing alibis if the scales of justice were to be made even.

Quinn had rathered I take some more responsibility by holding the knife. Everyone else vetoed that option so I was just the bystander lover.

"Clarice," Quinn says sweetly, wrapping her arms tightly around me as if the power move display did not just happen.

"Quinn," I murmured, letting her hug me but not returning the sentiment.

"What are you doing here?" Ethan threatened under his breath "we're not supposed to be seen together."

"What's the matter friends? Not happy to see me?" Quinn pouted a little.

Me and Ethan glanced at each other, sharing a look but not saying anything so she continued.

"Just thought I'd walk you to my place since you told me you were coming. Tara and Sam are out right now but you can stay over until they're back." She spoke nonchalantly as if she didn't show up as a chance to torment me.

Quinn was the only one who seemed to enjoy switching back and forth from her public and real persona as she skipped along ahead of us, kind enough to make a teddy bear choke.

She despised me, I knew, for my friendship with Richie and now relationship with Ethan. She figured I had some ulterior motive but none of us knew what.

She turned walking away knowing we would follow. I sighed to Ethan before linking my arm through his as we walked up the subway steps. The cold New York air returned as we surfaced and Quinn turned around to face us.

"Awh, look at you lovebirds huddled up." She shook her head with a fake smile "seriously I'm about to puke."

"No need to be so dramatic," Ethan sighed. "Claire is a part of this family now too."

The line made a happiness grow inside me, it was so nice to finally feel wanted and needed. To be a part of something, together. Even if it was just me and Ethan as a family of 2.

As soon as we rounded the block, Quinn's friendly demeanour melted to venom.

"Why should we involve her?" She glared at me "she's not fucking family."

"She's a good cover, and she loved Richie, too." Ethan spoke nonchalantly but held my waist as he spoke the word love.

Quinn squinted her eyes looking over at me, "that's not good enough."

"What's the big deal, why does it matter to you?" Ethan glared back at his sister.

"She thinks that she's better than me!" Quinn yelled.

"She is," Ethan murmured, rolling his eyes at her and looking around to ensure no one heard her.

"I'll cut her open so you can see how much better she is than me then," Quinn smirked at me and I returned with a glare.
