"I look like a skank!" Cece cries out. "And... and I love it. Ha ha!" She laughs and it spreads onto me. She is wearing a black leather shirt that reached the top of her belly button and a black skirt that reached just above her fingertips. She did look like a skank. But I remember she's worn grey for sixteen years.

"You're going in that? Oh, come on, Dalia." I shrug.

I'm wearing black leggings and a loose tank top thats wavy end reaches my thighs. My black boots cover my leggings. It costed me few points from my dauntless account and it's comfortable. How rare in dauntless. It's the perfect outfit but apparently not for a bar.

"You need to live more!! Wear something hot! Maybe someone will pick you up." With that she wiggles her eyes brows, making me smile and roll my eyes.

"I don't wanna be 'picked up'. I have better things to focus on." She sighs and shakes her head. I look at the clock in the dormitory and it reads 7:45 P.M.

"Let's head out," I say. And with that we head downstairs.

Jared was still getting his tattoo. Cece backed out once I told her the pain was a 7 out of 10. "Maybe another time," is what she said, nervously. We walked to the parlor and see Jared looking in the mirror at his neck tattoo. It was a dragon that lingered up the right side of his hair. His blue eyes lit up when he saw us.

"How's it look, guys?" Me and Cece give him thumbs up.

"You look great," Cece says. They smile at each other shyly and I feel like I'm left out of something. Cece hasn't told me but obviously they like each other. I feel awkward so I look away.

My eyes land on Tori, the woman who gave me my tattoo. The woman who also have me my aptitude test, the one who defined me as Dauntless. She stares back at me with the strangest urgency in her eyes.

"Hi," I say to be polite. I give her a small wave of my hand but she doesn't do anything. I look away, feeling more awkward.

Suddenly, Tori grabs my wrist and drags me towards the tattoo parlor curtains.

Jared calls out. "Dalia, what..."

"Go to the bar. I'll catch up later," I yell behind me.

Tori starts talking immediately after we get behind the black tall curtain. "What are you doing here?!" She whispers loudly. Her eyes look about as dark as a shark's and her straight face makes me uncomfortable. She doesn't know me. What's her problem?

"What are you talking about?! You told me I belong here so I chose Dauntless!" I snatch my wrist away from her. I don't like this rude Tori chick.

"I- I might've..." I look at her as she tries to find words to say.

Tori exhales nervously. "I might've lied." She's so quiet I almost don't hear her. Tori looks around the curtains to make sure no one is around.

"You might've what?" I step closer to her. "Explain yourself," I say disgusted. She's quiet and confused as she looks down at the black tiled floor.

I grab her by the neck and push her spine against the back wall. "Explain. Your damn. Self." She looks at me wide eyed.

"Not here," Tori croaks, trying to whisper.

I let go of her larynx and she takes a deep breath. Tori walks me out through a back door of the parlor into a gray stone hallway. We walk up many metallic stairs and go into another hallway with doors to the right side that I'm guessing are apartments. She stops in front of one and unlocks it.

"Get in," Tori says, pushy.

I step inside and sure enough, it's an apartment. Tori's I think. "Sit." She points to a white couch that I go to sit on.

"Start talking," I say impatiently.

"Well... Your test," she clears her throat. "Your aptitude test said you were Dauntless." I stare at her confused.

"Then how'd you lie? About what?" I need answers.

"But as you just demonstrated, you're also curious, which is an Erudite trait..." I feel my palms get sweaty. My wide eyes look at Tori, never leaving her.

Then, she starts talking faster. "I thought you were going to choose Erudite! You had a similar percentage between Erudite and Dauntless but I thought you were going to choose to stay with your family!" She stops talking. She looks down, wide eyed, at her white carpet.

I sigh and pinch the bridge of my nose. "Elaborate... Say it," my voice is shaky.

"Dauntless is the worst place place for you..."

"Say. It," I say sharply.

"You're Dauntless, Erudite, and a low percentile of Amity." She pauses. "You're Divergent."
