At 17 he fought with his parent on being a huntsman resulting in him running into a Disguised Salem. Over the years (6) he grew cruel due to Salem's influence until one day he failed to get Raven to side with Salem. Returning in defeat Salem made an example of him by having him covered in tar and lit on fire by one of her new puppets and thrown into a canyon near Shion. He crawled back home and was greeted with open arms and treated for his burns. Whilst recovering he began to read a book he found in his parent's library called the bible. It mentioned places he had never heard of but found comfort in its words and sought to live by them. He legally changed his name to be rid of his past as the malpais Jaune.
