Glynda: And that's the match.

Jeane: Good match

Jeane collapses.

Glynda: Well done, Miss Nikos. You should have no problem qualifying for the tournament.

Pyrrha: Thank you, professor.

Glynda: (Tapping her Scroll.) Alright, now I know that's a tough act to follow, but we have time for one more sparring match. (Glynda looks around at the observing students.) Any volunteers? Ms. Belladonna? (Blake slams her book shut and stares wide-eyed at Glynda.) You've been rather docile for the past few classes. Why don't you -

Mercury raises his hand.

Mercury: I'll do it.

Glynda: Mercury, is it? Very well, let's find you an opponent.

Mercury: Actually, I wanna fight... her.

Mercury points to Pyrrha.

Pyrrha: Me?

Glynda: I'm afraid Miss Nikos has just finished the match. I recommend you choose another partner.

Joshua: I'll do it

Glynda: Are you certain?

Joshua: Yes.

Glynda: Very well.

Mercury struts into the arena, visibly sizing up Joshua.

Mercury: What's with the bandages?

Joshua: Fire Dust accident as a child.

Their spar begins when he makes the first attack and is knocked down. Recovering quickly, he deflects an attack and begins trading blows with Joshua until he knocks him back with a war club. (The honest hearts war club)

Ruby Rose turns toward Emerald sitting behind her.

Ruby: Hey, your friend's doing pretty good against Mr. Graham!

Emerald gives a fake smile and then rolls her eyes as Ruby turns her back.

Mercury unleashes a series of powerful strikes. Joshua dodges a kick but Mercury manages to disarm him, with his war club on the other side of the ring, Joshua draws his pistol loaded with rubber rounds. Mercury charges at Joshua but is met with rubber righteousness hitting him. A metallic thunk is heard only Joshua and Mercury hear it but Joshua feigns not hearing it.

Mercury: (non-chalant) I forfeit.

Joshua stops mid reload.

Joshua: I implore you atleast try.

Mercury: (shrugging) What's the point? You're a trained huntsmen. We're obviously leagues apart.

Glynda: Joshua Graham the victor of the match.

Emerald smirks. Mercury sneers smugly. Joshua looks indifferent, and places ALSID in its holster.

Glynda: Next time, you may want to think a little harder before choosing an opponent.

Joshua: Also remember in the real world you can't forfeit.

Mercury: I'll be sure to do that.

An alarm sounds which jolts Blake who has nodded off.

Glynda:  That is all for today. And remember, the dance is this weekend. But you all have your first mission on Monday. I will not accept any excuses.

As everyone leaves, Mercury stops beside Emerald.

Mercury: Learning is so much fun.

The scene shifts to Joshua, Stacy and Roman at an ice-cream shop. Roman is now dressed in a plaid shirt, jeans and his hair now dyed black. (He doesn't look anything like he used to) He is also wearing an apron as that's where he now works. In the background a man tries to sneak in and steal some cash but is warded off by a gremlin Neo.
