In a track-by-track, frontman Dave Bayley mentions that he thought of the song material while watching Breaking Bad. In Breaking Bad, Walter White is constantly facing off against adversaries that he seems outmatched by.

Selene Kingman considered herself lucky for a while. Not everybody gets to grow up in New York City, and not everybody gets to grow up on the Upper East Side. It was almost to die for. Almost. A life of luxury always seemed just out of reach for the Kingmans- all two of them, at least. Selene spent her childhood in the richest penthouses, wearing designer clothes, and vacationing in the Hamptons, all because of her mom. She didn't live in the penthouses, the clothes were hand-me-downs, and she spent most of those vacations folding laundry, and she wouldn't change it for the world.
Donna Kingman wanted a better life for her daughter, so she cleaned houses in South Jersey. A chance meeting and a one night stand with a rich man was the answer to her prayers. Working for the Roy family was meant to feel like a privilege, and for a while, it was.
Selene loved the Roys. Until she didn't. Seven years later, she's still upset about it, and she's sure as hell going to do something about it.
