This is it, schools over, summer break has just begun. Instead of staying home with Mom I'll be going to summer camp. Camp Current is what its called, the reason I have to go: my mom is going on a long business trip and she wants me to have fun. I dont think getting eaten by mosquitoes, third degree burns from the big yellow fire ball in the sky, or getting mauled by a bear is that great. I wanted to just chill at the house like I always do, its pretty cozy I guess. But now I'm in the car, and were pulling into the entryway to this camp.

"Mom, I can just stay home. Why are you torturing me like this?...Mom?" My mom was currently on the phone, she looked in the mirror and put her finger over her lips. "Shh, anyway sorry about my daughter, we just pulled into a summer camp and shes just so eager to go. You know how kids are." I rolled my eyes and took off my seatbelt, "Bye mom, love you.." I slightly open the door waiting for her reply but there was none, I got my bag out and shut the door. I tried to wave to her as she pulled away but she didnt even bat an eye.

I see the entryway sign, its standing with big wooden pillars and the sign is carved telling the camp name. I swing my bag over my shoulder and start walking through, this is my time to escape but where would I go? Moms already long gone and I doubt theres any cell service out here. I sigh and continue to walk, in the distance I hear loud talking, laughing, even crying. I must be close, I slowly walk over to where a big stage was put with three people standing tall. One boy and one girl seeming to be my age and a big man, who I'm assuming to be the camp owner. The boy had green eyes and blonde short hair with acne. The tallest girl had blue hair, dyed, with dark brown eyes. The big broad man had grayish hair with a big grayish beard and had green eyes. "Good morning campers! What a beautiful Sunday it is, and your first day of summer camp here at Camp Current! Are you all excited?!" The blonde boy shouted with enthusiasm, he had a large grin on his face which hurt my eyes looking at. Who would be happy here, but to my surprise everyone cheered, except this one group of girls who were on their phones and just like that I knew, I have to meet them.

When I walked over to the girls they didnt even glance, they were glued on their phones. And I was shocked to see Claire, a sophmore at the highschool I just so happened to go to with her. She sniffed my presence like the witch she was, "Oh, Cameron. Surprised to see you here, thought you'd be at home crying or whatever you do." Claire was a bully, but she couldnt break me here. "Yeah, I thought Id decide to go outside. I didnt know you could even do that without messing up your hair." Claire grinned, "So you think that just because were out of school with new people around makes you so tough huh Cam? Well, just know your still a roach and all roaches get stepped on."

I thought about just getting the job done and punching her right in her nose but I just sighed and walked past her. I dont know why but I guess I'll give this place a chance even though I really really really hate camp.

I walked to the cabins, they looked decent enough the shambles on the roof were falling off though. The inside of the cabins looked modern, a set of 2 bunk beds inside. I threw my bag against the wall and sat on the bed. I really wanted to go home. Then 3 other girls walked in consisting of: Claire, a shorter girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, and the tall counselor with blue hair (She has a short blue dyed cut and has a buzzed black undercut.) The camp counselor clapped her hands together, "Alright campers! This is cabin doe, I will be watching over making sure no mischievous acts are made! I am also here to have new comers get a more feel of the camp, make yourself at home!"

Great, Claire is here and she has that stupid grin as always. The camp counselor sat on the left bottom bunk, beside my bunk, (which I chose bottom because I dont like top bunks.) She clasped her hands together, "Well girls, how about we introduce ourselves to get to know eachother! My name's Kacey, and I'm your camp counselor! And a fun fact about me is I love camp!" Her excitement was burning a hole in my brain, but then a scent was burning my nose. Claire was spraying perfume everywhere, "Something stinks and I think its coming from over here." She sprayed a cloud of perfume all over me, I could feel the chemical burning my eyes and my throat. I coughed and swiped the cloud with my hand, "Ugh! Claire quit it! Not everyone wants to smell as fake as you!" Claire glared at me, "What did you just-" Kacey interrupted by jumping up before conflict starts,"Claire, you've been coming here for years. You know you cant spray too much perfume around, some people may have asthma or migraines." Kacey took the bottle and put it in her pouch, "I'll be confiscating this until its time to leave. In the meantime here," She tossed a stick of deodorant over to Claire, "use this instead. You'll need it." Claire huffed and tossed the deodorant onto her bag, "Well my names Claire. I'm the cheer captain at Lakewater Highschool, and I am so excited to stay here this summer with all of you. The only thing I'm not looking forward too is the roaches."
