Bek's heart broke for Octavius. He was wax or plastic, sure, but he remembered Gaius Octavius' life as if it was his own. He remembered his family and loved them deeply, but none of them were at the museum with him. At least she had Ahkmenrah. Octavius had no family there at all.

However, the pain she felt on her dear friend's behalf was nothing compared to the complete, overwhelming grief she felt two nights later when she found a certain little wooden box among the artifacts newly added to her exhibit.

Two hours had passed since sunset and the museum's awakening, and no one had seen any sign of Bek. She usually came out of her tomb to mingle within a half hour or so, just like her brother did. That night, on the other hand, she had yet to make an appearance.

Larry, Ahkenrah, and were the first to notice the princess's absence. They tried the art gallery, Ocean World, and the Ancient Far East wing before checking in the Hall of Miniatures.

"What's up, Gigantor?" Jed tipped his hat to the larger people.

"Is there some way that we can assist you this evening, my liege?"

"Yeah..........Have you guys seen Bek tonight?" Larry asked. "It's been a few hours, and nobody's seen her yet....."

"Usually, she joins the night's festivities before one hour has passed," Ahk added worriedly.

"'Fraid Miss Bek ain't been in here yet either," Jed answered with a shake of his head.

"Perhaps we can assist you in finding Her Majesty?" Octavius immediately offered.

"Yeah, we can take the new truck," Jed added. "It goes faster."

"Your help would be appreciated," Ahk replied quickly.

"Yeah, okay," Larry reluctantly agreed. "Just be careful, guys, okay?"

"Will do, Gigantor!"

Ten minutes later, Jed and Octavius were driving out into the museum halls.

"Where'd ya think we oughta look first, Ockie?"

Octavius thought for a moment. "I believe the best course would be to follow her possible steps."

"So, start in Egypt, then?"

"Indeed."

"Hold on to ya toga, Ockie!" Jed revved the engine and stomped on the gas, causing to RC pickup truck to race off down the hall.
