Chapter 2:New Friends

The next morning Princeton woke up early then expected since it was a Saturday. He rolled himself out of bed and went into the bathroom. He took a shower and brushed his teeth. He put on some basketball shorts, a wife beater, and some adidas sandals. He made his way downstairs to the kitchen and saw his mom making breakfast.

"Good morning ma", he said as he gave her a kiss on the cheek

"What you doing up so early?" she asked giving him a confused look

"I couldn't sleep last night"

"Well maybe it was from all the excitement last night", his mom said

"Yeah that's probably it", he said not really sure if that was the explanation

"So what do you plan on doing today", his mom asked

"I'm probably just gonna do some homework and watch TV", he said 

"Well ok then",his mom said as she handed him a plate of bacon, eggs, and pancakes"Eat your food. I have to go to now and i'll be working late tonight", she said as she grabbed her purse and gave him a kiss on the cheek

"Bye. Love you", she said as she walked out the door

"Love you too", he said back to her.

He finished eating his food and put his plate in the sink. He went up stairs to grab his books from his book bag so that he could finish his homework. Even though he had a full ride to college, his parents always taught him the value of an education and how he should always have a back up plan just in case life didn't go as planned.

He got started on his homework and was finished in about 45 minutes. After he was done he decide to go next and see if Rosaline wanted to hang out with him. 

Even though he had only known her for a couple minutes, he felt comfortable around her. He couldn't understand it but there was something different about this girl. Something that attracted him to her. Even though he already had a girlfriend, he wanted to get to know this new girl a little more.

He walked downstairs and made his way next door. He rang the doorbell and watched as the door swung open a few seconds later.

"Hi",she said as she opened the door and smiled at Princeton

"Hey, i was wondering if you wanted to hang out with me if you weren't busy?", he asked

"Sure, let me just grab my phone", she said as she went back inside

A couple minutes later Rosaline walked back outside and closed the door. They both walked to Princeton's car and got in.

"So where are we going?", she asked curiously

"It's a surprise", Princeton said as he continued to drive down the road

After 10 more minutes of driving they'd finally come to a stop. He pulled up to a wooded secluded    area and parked the car as they both walked out.

"Where are we?",with a look of confusion o her face

"Just come with me", he said as he grabbed her hand and led her deeper into the woods

After walking for about 15 minutes they came to a stop. Rosaline's mouth dropped as she looked at the beautiful scenery. 

Deep in the woods was a small waterfall. It was surrounded by different types of flowers and plants.  There were birds that they had never seen before flying around. The reflection of the sun seemed to make the water glow.

"What is this place, she asked as stared into the water

"This is where I go when I want to get away from life", he said while sitting on a log

"Why would you want to get away from life?" she asked as she sat down next to him

"Sometimes i feel like i'm not good enough, like I can't live up to everyone's standards", he said while looking into the water

"You don't have to live up to anyone's standards, do what you love to do and anyone who doesn't support you isn't worth keeping in your life", she said as she looked at him

"Thanks", he said looking in her eyes

They sat there and continued talking and found out that they had a lot in common. They were having a great time until they were interrupted by the growling of both their stomachs.

"I see someone's hungry", Princeton said as he looked at her

"I'm not the only one", she said as she laughed

"Well lets go get something to eat", he said as he grabbed her hand and led her out of the woods

They both got in the car and drove down to Dave & Busters. They walked in and sat down while the waiter walked to their table. They both ordered their food and waited. 5minutes later their food came out and they started eating.

"So tell me about your life before you moved down here", Princeton said while taking a bite of his South Philly Burger

"Well I moved here from New York, my dad got transferred here by his job so i had to leave all my friends and my school",she said while taking a bite of her chicken tenders

"Dang, it must have been hard moving all the way to Cali"

"Not really, i've always wanted to live here so i was really excited about moving", she said while smiling at him

They both finished eating and decided to play some games. They played air hockey for 10 minutes until Rosaline won.

"Yayyyyyyy I won", she said jumping up and down while doing her victory dance

"Only because i let you win", he said while sticking his tongue out at her

"Ok let's play nothing but net and see if i win",she said

"what if  i win?",Princeton asked curiously

"You won't but lets just say luck is on you side, I have to do whatever you want, but if I win you have to let me drive your car, deal" she said while holding her hand out

"deal", Princeton said as he shook her hand

They both walked over and started playing. Princeton was surprised at how good she was. After playing for a couple minutes they were both tied. There was only 5 seconds left on the clock when Rosaline made her last shot and missed. Princeton through the ball and made it in.

"So who is the better basketball player", Princeton said in a cocky tone

"Me", Rosaline said with a smirk on her face

"Well I think we should be going home by now" Princeton said

"Yay it's getting kinda late", Rosaline agree

They both grabbed there stuff and walked out to Princeton's car. They both got in and drove back home. 

Princeton parked his car in his driveway as they both got out. He walked her to her house and gave her his number. He said goodbye and made his way back to his hand. 

He walked in his house and plopped down on his couch with a huge smile on his face. He hadn't had that much fun in awhile with anyone, not even his girlfriend. His moment of bliss was soon ended when his phone  started vibrating. He looked at the caller id and saw that his girlfriend was calling. he sighed and answered the phone

"Hello?"

"Where the FUCK have you been?"...........
