Princeton's mother pulled into the the parking lot of the police station ten minutes later. She parked her car as she and her husband ran frantically into the station.
"Where is my son!", she screamed as she ran up to the officer sitting at the front desk
"What's his name Ma'am?", the officer said looking up at her
"Jacob. His name is Jacob Perez"
The officer checked through his log book and found Princeton's name.
"He's processed right now ma'am, so you're going to have to take a seat and wait till they're done with him
"I don't want to wait. I Want To See My Son!", she said getting frustrated
"You can't, but I suggest that you sit down and call your lawyer"
Princeton's mom sighed and decided to take the advice of the officer. She sat down next to her husband and called the family lawyer.
20 minutes later their Lawyer, Mr. Martin, arrived. He walked in and talked to one the detectives who where overseeing the investigation. After their discussion, he returned to Princeton's parents and informed them of what was happening.
"Your son is being held in one of the jail cells until the hearing on Monday. Then you'll have to pay his bail and wait until the trial starts"
"MONDAY? I can't just sit by and let my son sit in jail for an entire week", Priceton's mom yelled "You have to do something!"
"I'll see what I can do, but until then I'm going to need you to calm down and let me do my job"
Mr. Martin walked back to negotiate with the detectives while Princeton's mother and father waited in the waiting room. They were a nervous wreck, but that was nothing compared to how Princeton was feeling at this moment.
He was a complete mess right now. Just the thought of him spending the rest of his life in jail for a crime that he didn't commit was sending him over the edge. It was becoming to much for him to handle. "Maybe I should just end it all", he thought as he sat against the wall of the jail cell.
"Jacob Perez?", an officer said as he walked up to the cell
"Yes?"
"You've just made bail. You're free to go", the officer said as he unlocked the door
Princeton quickly got up and ran out of the cell. He saw his mother and father standing in the waiting room as he ran up to, giving them a huge hug as they all cried into each others chest.
Martin walked up to them as they let go to listen to what he had to say.
"I had to pull some strings, but Princeton is free to go home. He isn't allowed out of the state, and I will have to meet up with him sometime this week to prep him for the trial which will probably in two weeks.", Martin said "But I have to warn you; things are gonna get tough. Your character will be questioned and they will make it look like you're the bad guy, but you have to stay strong and listen to me."
They thanked Mr. Martin and drove back home. It was already 4 in the morning and Princeton had to get up at 6 to get ready for school.
He decided that he was going to skip school and prep for the trial with his lawyer.
He got out the car and walked into his bedroom. He turned on his lights and looked at everything as he started to realize that soon he might have to trade in his own room for a jail cell.
He shook the thought out of his mind as he tried to stay positive. He took his shoes off and laid on his bed as he drifted off to sleep.
