Monday morning came faster that I would have liked it to, and I found it exceedingly hard to pull myself away from my warm cozy bed to go to work. Though when I did finally get out of bed, I put on my normal boring clothes, and put my blonde hair in the normal boring pony tail I always did. All weekend my boss was on my mind, the thoughts that ran through were not all that innocent as I continued to read my spicy fiction. The thought of a man nearly a foot taller than me down on his knees and begging was overwhelming. I knew I would never act on the thought, I wasn't that kind of person, I was shy and reserved. All the dominant people in the books I have read are of a standing like my boss, powerful and domineering.
However, when I got to work that morning, the entire office was quiet, which seemed quite out of place for them. Yet I figured out why when I reached my computer. There were two emails sitting in my inbox. One stating no one is to be doing anyone else's work and if they are caught pawning their work on to someone else, they would be terminated. The second was an email directed to only me, asking to see my boss as soon as I got in the office. So I set my things down and went to the elevator going up only two more floors. I was met with a set of double doors with one door sitting by itself off to the left hand side.
I knew his office was the one containing the double doors, as he was the boss man. I took a deep breath, suddenly becoming very nervous, and knocked on his door.
Waiting was never my strong suit, so when he didn't immediately say come in I became annoyed. Though he did finally state I could enter, and I begrudgingly did. My mood now soured, and him with a smile adorning his face, I sat down across from him. I did notice his name badge, Markus Basin, his name didn't fit him though.
"I looked through the log records and it seems as though you have put in more projects and files than anyone else in your office. This being said you also haven't been properly compensated for those either. I have cleared it with the higher ups and you will be compensated through a raise this coming quarter. You will also be promoted and start working directly with me. The other office on this floor has been vacant for some time, however, now it will be considered your office." He seemed to ramble, but everything he said had a point to it.
"But I didn't ask-"
"I know, I thought it was the least the company could do for such a hard worker, you've been here since you were eighteen. Dedicated and willing to work for the things that need to be done, the company agrees with the decision."
Being interrupted by him also annoyed me, however he was the boss, so I nodded my head at him.
"Great!" He reached his hand out after grabbing a set of keys off his desk, "these are the keys to the office as well as the building. They are now your keys and you will be able to come and go as you please."
"Thank you" and I left.
I got back in the elevator to go and grab my things from my cubical. No one spoke to me, not even Janel as I packed up my things and moved it all upstairs. Not that I minded not being stopped and gossiped at or berated for ratting everyone out. Then again, it did kind of making me think if they were only using me for the fact that they didn't want to actually work on Friday's.
When I finally looked around the office, I did notice a note sat on the desk.
Decorate it how you would like, this is your own space

Great, now I can have a home away from home kind of thing here. I was feeling drained now but knew I need to get some work done so I sat down and logged into my new computer. I was now over seeing everything before it went to Markus, so anything anyone sent in I would have to look over. I either sent them back with notes of improvement, or forward them to him so he could work on getting them higher up. Over all though it wasn't a bad day, yet he did drop in at lunch to make sure I was settling in.
His demeanor did seem a bit off than a typical boss was supposed to be like, he was clingy and very needy on somethings. So I did end up locking my door at one point so he couldn't just come in.

The week was fast and I ended up noting a lot of the mistakes that the other women seemed to make on their reports and projects. However I was happy to send them back with plenty of notes for them to work on. I was on my way out for lunch when my phone rang, annoyed at the device I answered it.
"Hello, this is Athena" I answered.
A woman was on the phone complaining. This was something about my new job that I was not to thrilled about. I had to deal with complaints from people that I couldn't give two shits about.
"Ma'am the product you are talking about, we do not sell, so if you are having issues with it then I recommend calling the company that you bought it from."
She didn't like my answer and asked to speak to my manager, "ma'am I am the manager, and we do not sell what you are talking about. So I am unsure how to help you with that."
She hung up on me and I was blissfully okay with that. I had no idea how to help the woman if the product she was talking about wasn't ours. Once I was done setting my things away I went to leave again, but the damn phone was my enemy today.
"Hello, this is Athena."
"Ms. Moore if you wouldn't mind I need help with something. I'll order in lunch so you don't miss it."
I sighed but agreed to Mr. Basin's request of going to his office. When I reached it, he was buried in files and projects, I guess being the boss means her has the most work. I sat down across from him and waited until he said something.
"I apologize for pulling you in here, however there is one file I am having a hard time on. Would you take a look for me? When you're done you may leave, I don't want to keep you here any longer than need be."
I took the file from him and opened it. The first page had the words D/s Contract printed on the front. I knew what that meant and I was curious as to why it was something he would bring to work.
"Not many of our employee's are aware of our outside clubs, however with your new position you will be part of the decision making on some things. This is a new contract that has come through and I can't seem to understand the dynamic, would you mind?"
"How do you know I even know what this is?" I countered.
"You don't live under a rock Ms. Moore, please if you would."
"I will need more time to look over it, I'll take it with me and review the terms and conditions."
He let a smile form across his face, "excellent."
