In the Silence (Steve Rogers x Reader)

Leaving

A.N: Sorry, it's been a while.

The next day, you awake to FRIDAY calling you to the conference room for a meeting in ten minutes. Already being in the closet, you grab a pair of leggings and a sweater, running to the bathroom to get ready.

You arrive at the meeting to see Steve already waiting.

He smiles. "Good Morning"

"Good morning" You reply

You sit down just as Fury walks into the room with a bunch of people following him.

"Rogers" he nods.

Steve nods in response

"Good morning Y/N," Fury says

"Morning Nick" You reply

Steve glances over at you, confused by the casual greeting.

"Pick your jaw up off the floor Rogers. You both leave for your mission in a few hours," Fury says. "A house has been arranged and moving trucks will be there by the time you arrive. SHIELD has packed for both of you and now you will be getting a new look to help you stay undercover. We estimated that the house will be bugged within an hour of you two first leaving, so even in the home, you will have to sell that you're married."

You and Steve both nod.

"Best of luck to both of you, here are your burner phones where you can schedule meetings with me." He says handing you the phones.

With that he leaves and the makeover begins.

A few women lead you off to a different room where they proceed to cut your hair to shoulder length and dye it blonde (If you're already blonde, imagine a different shade of blonde). They thin and shape your eyebrows. Lastly, they dress you in a yellow sun dress that hits mid-thigh and white converse.

("Who says, I can't wear my converse, with my dress")

They guide you to a mirror and you look at yourself.

"Do I really have to wear a dress?" you ask

"Yes" a woman replies

"Fine, but does it have to be this short?"

"Yes, you're in the honeymoon stage, get used to it"

You roll your eyes, heading back to the conference room where Steve is waiting. His hair is now brown and longer and he has a beard. He wears a light blue button-down and brown pants (Guys, I'm sorry, I know nothing about men's clothes) His eyes widen when he sees you, his pupils dilating.

"How did you grow a beard that quickly? Or are you going to have to put on a fake beard every day until the real one grows?" you ask

He chuckles and shakes his head. "I guess Banner made a hair growth serum."

"Impressive"

he nods "You look great"

You blush and smile. "Thanks, you're not too bad yourself."

"Is that dress not going to be a pain for move-in day?"

"Oh probably, but they insisted. I was told to get used to it because we're in the honeymoon stage. I'm guessing that means they packed me a lot of short dresses."

Steve nods, his eyes running up and down your body one more time.

"Well, should we get going?" He asks.

"Sure" you say
