In the Silence (Steve Rogers x Reader)

A Date

You're in your room getting ready for your date with the help of Nat and Wanda.

"Can I just say that I did not see this coming?" Nat says "At least not so soon."

"I did," Wanda says "Of course, I know what's going on in her head."

"You've been in my head?" You ask

"Yes" She smiles "Do you blame me, I mean when you first got here, you wouldn't even talk. I had to figure you out somehow."

"Fair enough." You reply

"This" Nat says pulling out a black dress. "It's perfect. Go put it on"

You take the dress and change into it in the bathroom. When you come back out the girls squeal in excitement.

"It's perfect," Wanda says

You look in the mirror. The dress has a tight upper body and flows around the waist just reaching above your knees. The sleeves are off the shoulder.

"You look great," Wanda says "Now get out of your head"

"You get out of my head" You sass

Wanda laughs "Fair enough"

"Seriously though, Steve won't be able to resist you in that" Nat tells you

You laugh.

"Now, time for hair and make up" Nat says

The girls get to work. When they're done, you look in the mirror again. Your hair is curled and the waves fall loosely over your shoulders and down your back. Your makeup is done naturally, with warm nude tones. You smile

"Thank you," You tell them both.

You grab a pair of black heels and a black purse with a gold chain strap.

"You look so beautiful," Nat says

"Like a princess" Wanda adds

There's a knock on the door.

"Now," Wanda starts "Your prince awaits."

You laugh and open the door to see Steve standing in black pants, a white shirt, and a black leather jacket.

"You look...incredible" He says

"Thank you" You smile "You look great too"

He smiles, his cheeks flushing slightly.

Nat and Wanda approach from behind you.

"No funny business young man" Nat scolds

"And have her home before curfew" Wanda adds

"We hope you have good intentions with our girl," Nat tells him

"Your girl?" Steve says before looking back at you "And here I was thinking you were my girl" He teases

You blush, smiling wide as you glance down.

"Aww" Wanda squeaks

"Yughkth" Nat says "Alright, go before you two give us cavities"

Steve laughs taking your hand and leading you out.

He takes you to a small restaurant and you two talk about so much. He tells you stories from his old life, talking about all the times Bucky would have to come to his rescue. You laugh, listening contently. He asks you about what it was like becoming an agent at such a young age. You tell him stories, saying Tony never fully approved but you knew your brother would be proud, scared shitless, but proud.

At the end of the date, he walks you back to your room.

"You know, you're welcome to spend the night." You tell him

He smiles but shakes his head. "I wish, but I also want to do this first date properly, and I'm not one to have sex on a first date."

"Fair enough," You say "I had a really good time tonight."

"Me too," He says

He leans in and kisses you. When he pulls away he puts his forehead against yours.

"Now, I should go before I take you up on that offer. Goodnight Y/N" he says

"Goodnight," You say before kissing him once more.

He leaves and you smile before going into your room. When you get into your room, you take off your shoes and notice a note on your bed.

You grab the note and read it.

'You'll never be able to escape the torture for as long as you're alive. It's a shame if something were to happen to your loved ones.'

You tense up.
