I am a Fool.

In tarot, The Fool represent naivety, youth, new beginnings.

I wish my mistakes could sound as pretty as that.

I remember every feeling:
Hands held, dogpiles and warm cuddles, tea on a winter day, laughter on warm summer nights.

I am tired of making excuses for myself.

I can't believe it took me this long to pull myself out of my bout of self-righteousness to see what your words really meant.

I'm a hypocrit to talk about being mature. I'm no better than anyone else is, no matter how I delude myself.

I'm sorry I couldn't see it sooner.

I will suffer the fall off the cliff I threw myself over.
I convinced myself it was the best choice, but when I crumbled at the bottom, I found myself suffering for it.

I made a mistake.

And how easy it is to project blame.

So I sat with scuffed knees for nearly a year until I finally managed to see that the bruises were my own doing.

And suddenly I missed the people who tried to stop me.
