Selena's POV:

My eyes burned deeply as I peered them open, Morgan was stood next to me and Carter was no where to be seen.

"Morgan what's going on?" I asked softly as I rubbed my eyes and faced her.

"Fuck, are you BLEEDING?!" The words flew from me like an echo over a mountain.

As I watched her muster up the energy to tell me what was happening, I began to notice how tired she seemed.

Her eyes were dark and lifeless, her skin was getting more pale by the day and she had definitely lost a few pounds since we first met.

"Alex got hurt, he's inside but its not looking good..." Her words trailed off, I think she was in shock.

Once I realised trying to get information out of her was a no go, I decided to check her over quick to make sure none of the blood was hers.

She had a few nicks and bruises but nothing serious, I took her hand and guided her back to the house.

"Hey Morgan, why don't you go into the kitchen and get some water okay? I'll come back and get you soon." I spoke softly hoping to get through, and I did.

She slowly made her way to the kitchen shuffling her feet across the floor, as if picking up her feet to walk was a skill she never learnt.

While she disappeared through the kitchen door I rushed back toward the living room, as I entered I was faced with a horrifically morbid scene.

Alex was laid across the coffee table with Carter on his knees beside him, frantically packing the gaping wounds
on his torso.

Alex was barley conscious, his eyes just kept rolling... Carter's eyes were unreadable, although his face said it all.

The way he was chewing on his bottom lip was a sign he didn't know what to do, in all honesty neither did I.

something in me just snapped seeing him like that, seeing him lose hope.

I can't explain the feeling I had, I just know I never wanted to feel it again.

His vulnerability was my responsibility from this day forward, I will never allow him to feel this weak or defeated ever again.

"Cole, get towels and any first aid kits or equipment ed has left behind, Josh find Ed... Fast." I spat orders stern enough for everyone to look my way.

"What the fuck you both staring at, move! Carter I need you to compress his wounds so I can start CPR." It seemed the harsher I was the more they listened.

'I mean I should have known considering who their boss is right?...'

I only had a few weeks of medical school under my belt, Adam got addicted to gambling a few years before I started.

Once I had finished most of the entry requirements for medical school, he was already in thousands worth of debt.

I was forced to work two jobs to pay it off, not to mention the dates I had to go on with the casino owners son until it was paid.

Once I'd finally started medical school I was never able to attend, I got kicked out for getting to many late marks on all my assignments.

"Lena please save him, he's just a kid..." Morgans brittle voice chimed over from the door way.

I could feel the tears filling as her words echoed in my mind, 'He's just a kid.'

Cole came back into the room with towels, and everything I needed to stop the bleeding.
