"Sir?"

I opened my eyes after hearing someone's voice.

"We're almost there, Sir."

I closed my eyes again.

"What part of my order did you not understand? I said wake me up when we get there." I noted him back my orders.

"Sorry sir, It was just so you can have time to prepare." He replied.

I opened my eyes again.

In front of me is a skinny young boy yet well dressed. In his lap, he is holding a sheet of paper and a pen.

"Prepare? Tell me boy? What should I prepare? I can't even stand up and prepare things for myself!" I suddenly raved in front of him.

Which later on I feel guilty about.

I looked at the lower part of my body.

Shattered.
Broken.
Painful.

"My apologies. I was just reminded that with this shattered body, I can't seem to do anything for myself anymore." I apologized.

"No, sir. It was insensitive for me to say that. I should've done what was told. I'm sorry." He said avoiding eye contact.

I didn't bother to argue with him that It was truly my fault, so I just left him a nod and looked at the  window.

Who would've thought that all those sacrifices would be overlooked.

All the blood,
Sweat,
Tears,
And bones.

Were all overlooked.

We finally arrived at the gate of our destination. Two guards helped each other push the gate forward for our carriage to pass.

I peeked at the window at the back and I saw sa girl that is all white from hair to skin. The only difference is the eyes, it resembles a shining ruby. She is holding a yellow parasol making her more visible.

"We're here, Sir."
The young boy said.

The carriage stopped and a few seconds later the door opened.

The young boy then carefully carried me out of the carriage and placed me at a flat wooden bed with wheels.

A woman in mid 50's then starts to walk torwards me with a smile.

"Good day Mr. Feriño, It's so nice to see someone who brought glory to all of france." She said offering her hand.

I shaked her hand, and her smile grew larger.

"Je suis Mme Delphine."
She said.

I took my hand back and then I notice her smile slowly fading.

"Oh... My apologies. I heard you are not from this country. My name is Madame Delphine." She said translating her words from earlier.

I smirked. "Pas de soucis, je peux comprendre le français(No worries, I can understand French)... But not that much. I'm Ramil Feriño, surely you already know that. I also came from the Philippines."

Her smile suddenly came back to greet me again.

"Vraiment(really)? Philippines? I say you've been traveling for a long time now to get here?" She asked.

"Well it was quite a journey."
I replied.

Despite the sickening hours of waiting to finally arrive at my destination. The journey was quite enjoyable.

"Well, may this be part of your next journey. Let's put you to your ward." She said while walking behind me to push my rolling bed.

As we were heading torwards my ward, I can't help but embrace how peacefulness the moment is.
