I want to be happy

Chapter 0-Introduction

The story centers on a boy named Ryuu, who was born into a Yakuza family by his father, Shikirai, who is second in command of the organization. His mother, Nara, is in charge of taking care of her son and satisfying her husband. Shikirai and Nara married when they were young, aged 29 and 17 respectively, and the following year they had Ryuu, making Nara a young mother.

During the early years of Ryuu's childhood, his life went on normally without any major problems. However, when Ryuu was only 8 years old, his father came home in a state of rage and drunkenness, prompting Nara to come over to see what was going on.

Sitting on the couch with an aura of anger, Shikirai was approached by his wife Nara, who was concerned noticing his exalted behavior.

-What's wrong, honey? - she asked, trying to understand the situation. -You seem a bit excited.In response, Shikirai got up from the sofa and stood in front of her.

-Can't you see that I'm angry?! -Shikirai shouted, visibly furious. -I'm no longer second in command. - Without saying a word, he slapped Nara, who fell to the ground after the blow.

-Why are you hitting me?! -she asked, trying to protect herself. In fear, she slowly crawled away as Shikirai came dangerously close.

While all this was going on, Ryuu was in his room studying for a difficult physics exam, not hearing anything due to the music he was using to concentrate. Suddenly, he realized something was wrong when he heard a strange noise coming from the other room. He ran downstairs to see what was going on and found his mother lying on the floor with his father standing in front of her, fist clenched. In an instant, Ryuu went into shock, but quickly jumped into the argument and stood in front of his mother to protect her.

-What are you doing, Ryuu?! -Shikirai asked in a deep voice.

-Why are you hitting my mom?! -Ryuu asked in fear.

-Don't interfere! -said Shikirai as he punched him in the face, causing his son to fall to the ground as well.

Desperate with fear, Ryuu ran out of the place to hide, while listening to how his father kept hitting his mother.

Hearing his mother suffer so much caused him a strong trauma, as it was the first time he had seen his father react in such a way.

For 7 years, this situation was repeated over and over again, and for Ryuu it became increasingly difficult to assimilate what was happening. After his father finished beating his mother, he would take it upon himself to help her heal her injuries. However, his mother would end up with bruises on her face every time, which was hard for Ryuu to accept. He couldn't bear to see his mother suffer like this and not be able to do anything to help her. All he wanted was for his mother to be able to find happiness, as that was what she wanted most in her life.

-Thank you son, I appreciate everything you have done for me in these years. -said Nara to Ryuu with all of exhaustion.

-Don't worry mother, I would do anything for you. -said Ryuu while hugging his mother.

Nara felt comforted by her son's embrace and clung to him tightly. She knew that her son would always be there to support and protect her, and that gave her strength to carry on.

-You are my pride and joy, Ryuu. You've always been a wonderful son and I'm so grateful for everything you've done for me. -Nara said with a weak smile.
