Playing genshin impact was something you always did in your rare free time. Perhaps it was a way to cope with your tragic current life?
Adoring the creatively designed characters, the gorgeous scenery, and the thrilling stories and plot always kept you coming back for more.
It was more of an escape from reality than a simple video game. A place where you truly felt welcome, unlike the real world.
The real world was full of monsters - but not the kind you may think. Human monsters. People who would go out of their way and make other's lives miserable.
The real world had pollution, global warming, and forest fires. Genshin impact has clear blue skies, gentle breezes, and wondrous looking mountains and greenery.
So maybe that's why you were here. On the floor in the dirty public bathroom, bleeding from your mouth. Pills and empty bottles scattered the stained tiled floor.
Maybe in your next life, you would be happier. That is, if there even is a next life. It's a shame you wouldn't be able to finish the one that brought your life some light.
Tears began to well in your eyes, a complete contrast to your expressionless face. You were so, so tired... but you didn't really want to die. Regret seeped into your mind, but it was too late.
Then everything went black.
You couldn't really tell what was happening at the moment. You were supposed to be dead, after all.
A single luminous star in the inky sky fell from the heavens, headed straight for Starsnatch cliff. That's great and all, but the worst part is.. you are that star.
Regaining your conscience, you felt the cold air whip at your skin as you fell at an alarming pace. That's when the panic began to settle in.
You harshly collided with the grass, followed by a yellow light and an explosion, startling away any creatures in the nearby area.
You laid down in the prickly green grass with your arms and legs sprawled out, seemingly unharmed. Your eyes wide, you process what had just happened moments ago.
The circular yellow forcefield that had shielded your fall dissipated as if it was never there to begin with.
"Wha- How did I survive that!?" You exclaimed to no one in particular, your eyes not once leaving the starry sky.
You laid there in the rubble caused by the impact for a few moments longer, taking in the refreshing cool air and the smell of dandelions in the breeze.
"This doesn't look like the bathroom floor, heh." You grinned, joking to yourself, but in reality no one was laughing. You were scared and using humor to calm yourself down.
You slowly sit up, only to realize a small green-ish blue blob with wings was slowly inching towards you. 'An anemo slime.?' You wondered, confused.
It didn't attack, staying cautious and slow. Once it learned that you had meant no harm, it floated in your direction and landed right in front of your feet.
Instead of trying to attack you like you expected it to, it moved to make a bowing gesture. It stayed like that for a few seconds, then pulled out a sweet flower from underneath it's wings.
It offered the flower to you, which you hesitantly accepted. This wasn't normal for a slime. This wasn't normal at all. What was a slime doing here, and why did this scenery look so familiar?
That's when it hit you. You weren't in the real world anymore, were you? You recognized the cecilia's and the breathtaking view.
Had you somehow been isekai'd like you had always dreamed you would do? Or had the gods heard your plea to live and had given you a second chance?
Either way, you were grateful you weren't dead. 'Don't try suicide kids, it ain't fun.' You thought, sweatdropping.
You noticed the anemo slime looking at you expectantly, which made you panic. What were you supposed to do with the flower? Eat it?
So that's exactly what you did. You shoved the yellow flower into your mouth and swallowed quickly, not bothering to chew.
The anemo slime perked up at the sight, seemingly happy you like its gift. You nervously gave it a few headpats before standing up and sighing.
The slime flew up, off the ground and onto your shoulder. It was tiny, but too big to fit, so it flew off and settled on your head, letting out a silent content huff.
'This is new.' You nervously chucked, and allowed the slime to rest upon your head. You began to walk down the cliff, hoping to reach the gates of Mondstadt before daybreak.
While you walked, you came across many hilichurl camps, but none of them ever went out of their way to attack you.
Most of them only stared, and some even offered you food as a gift. You accepted the gift and ate it hesitantly, thanking them. Though, you were unsure if they understood you anyways.
An hour later, you were getting pretty tired, and the slime atop of your head was not getting off anytime soon. So, you went to the next camp you found and laid down next to a mitachurl.
You snuggled into its surprisingly soft fur, and it seemed to slightly shake with nervousness.
Once it had heard that your breathing had slowed and your eyelids closed, it finally relaxed. It placed a protective arm around you, careful not to wake you.
Content with its current position, it sighed and also fell asleep. The cooking pot fire had been extinguished, and there was no more noise but your silent snores.
Honestly, whatever was going on, it was so much better than your original world. It may be strange but you weren't complaining the slightest bit.
