"Magnus?" Ana asked in disbelief, staring at the grinning king. "Why are you here? I'm sort of... busy at the moment." Magnus simply chuckled, eyes flashing maliciously.

"Oh, my poor misguided Ana. How I am going to enjoy crushing you under my foot like a mere bug." Ana stared in disbelief-the king had always been cold, but she had just assumed he was grieving from his past wife. He'd never been downright wicked before.

He took a step closer, and she shied away, raising her sword like a defense mechanism.

"What's going on? Magnus?" She asked, brandishing the sword fearfully. And still he kept walking towards her, hands out and stretched towards her.

"You stupid girl!" He cried out suddenly, dropping the playful exterior.

"I am not that weak, contemptible king, though I soon shall take his place. No, I am someone all together more...destructive." Ana could not control her gasp, as she finally figured it out.

"Father?"

He sarcasticly clapped his hands, delighting in her horror. "Aren't you going to give me a hug? After all, blood is thicker than, well, anything."

"Is that how you justified killing Ruby?" She asked him, disgust evident in her features. "She wouldn't kill her husband for you, so you killed her? Her blood ran thick that night. And there I was, the perfect little replacement. You just slipped me in, the traitor in the castle. And now, so many years later, is Snow my replacement? Have I outstayed my welcome on this Earth?"

She couldn't stop the spiteful words from spilling from her mouth, as poisonous as black sludge. "You were our FATHER. You should have been there for us, but you never loved us. All you loved was power. I suppose you haven't told Snow that you're her grandfather? I imagine that she'll take it rather badly."

"I know, I know," HE said, putting up his hands. "I was a bad father. But I don't really care about that right now. My main concern is getting rid of all of those who would seek to keep me from the throne. Mainly, YOU."

Ana unsheathed her sword, rage flowing through her veins and giving her the courage to fight a man who'd had decade's worth of experience. Or maybe she had had the courage all along.
