Emerald secrecy (#wattys2015)

Chapter one

"I'm off to the library Lisa!" I yelled from the stairs to my roommate. I crossed my fingers hoping she would hear through her blasting music, which now I was used to over the many years of earaches and whatnot.
I heard the volume being lowered and almost winced at the rare moment. Lisa opened the door with a messy bun and her black hair springing out crazily. Typical Lisa.

She reached the top of the stairs.
"Sure, also when you come back could you please get some apples we've run out" she gave a cheeky smile
I raised my eyebrows, this wasn't the first, Lisa loved apples, though, to be honest she wasn't a health freak!

I nodded and slipped on my denim converses, making a mental note to clean them, I grabbed my keys and purse then headed out.
I then heard blasting music ringing through my ears.
I shook my head and smiled to myself.

Lisa and I have been best friends for a couple of years and now finally moved in together. Most people wonder how we get along with each other, we are total opposites, when she likes loud, energetic atmosphere, I like quiet and calm atmosphere, but we both have a LOVE of chocolate. I mean who doesn't!

I reached the library in no time,since, luckily it was around the corner from our flat. When I entered in I was Immediately hit with the smell of coffee which wafted around the building. It was soo comforting...
I don't know about you but the smell of coffee is so relaxing and dreamy, to my happiness there was a cafe in the library which was really helpful with my late night studying!

I waved at Peter who was the security,over the several days of my visits Peter and I formed a nice friendship. He gave me a bright smile which made his bright blue eyes sparkle. A trait I absolute envy!

I quickly returned the books. I stared at the book I just finished re-reading Romeo and Juliet ( it's probably my 100th time!) I love romantic books especially Shakespeare's books! I could imagine Lisa giving me a disgusted look at the secret lovers.
After I finished that I quickly said bye to Peter and made my way to the supermarket.
I picked the apples and payed for them, as I was exiting the shop my phone vibrated.

I smiled at this luckily for Nancy she was in Cuba for the summer having the time of her life, with me stuck with Lisa. However though in two weeks time I will be going to Leeds to see my parents from a very long time, since moving to London.

I shook my head from these thoughts and started walking home.
Crunch!
I looked up in surprise then looked down at the ground, I took step back and saw something glinting very brightly. I crouched down till I could see it better. There on the ground was a Beautiful ring with a green gemstone stuck to it. From my guessing I suppose it was an emerald. I picked it up and admired the intricate patterns on it .

I then realised it would be really expensive I stood up and without anyone looking I stuffed it on my pocket and ran home.
