I'm starting to force myself to write and let it come out, so it's actually going pretty well. I want to fully establish Liam's family since it plays a huge role in the dynamics that come later. The fluff is literally in the next chapter. I swear I will make it up to y'all.

Liam POV
As soon as Liam arrived home, he realized something was off. The hedges were trimmed to near perfection, the flowers and plants that he loved so dearly were all watered, and the swing on the tree was nice and clean. The recent storms had made it filthy, and he hadn't had the brainpower nor patience to actually clean it.
"Mum, why is everything looking so neat?" She only gave him a shy smile as she pursed her lips, stopping in front of the door and putting her hands on his shoulders.
"Screw your eyes shut, Liam." He listened, albeit a little confused, and closed his eyes. The world faded to darkness as he felt his mom drag him into the house, accidentally tripping him on the elevated doorframe of the front door. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry Liam." She giggled a little and then stepped behind him to close the door. He scowled a little and tried to smack her affectionately, but missed and hit the closed door.Damnit, that hurt.
"Mom, what are you doing?"
"No no, keep your eyes closed, Liam."
"They are closed, you're just being hella suspicious."
He was met with silence for a few seconds, then he heard a very familiar chuckle. "Same as always, Li." He opened his eyes in surprise and brightened when he saw Mia lounging by the island in their kitchen.
"Mia!" He was about to run towards her for a hug, but his mother swatted his arm.
"I told you to keep your eyes shut." She sighed as Killian snorted, then chuckled. "I guess you can look around now." He took the time to admire everything around him, and his eyes widened as he did so.Everything in the house was spotless, and in front of him hung a banner with a bunch of painted hearts and messages. He spotted his mother's writing, Amelia's drawings, and even Connor's loving messages, though it was embedded with friendly insults. As he read over the small notes they had left him, someone jumped on him from the side and laughed wholeheartedly, almost knocking him to the hard, wood floor in the process.
"Lili, man! You should have told me you weren't feeling good after the classification." Liam stared at Connor in surprise, then in slight fear as he wiggled out of his hold.
"Well.. I didn't really want you telling the whole school by accident, or making a big deal out of it," Liam muttered. He turned his head away only for Connor to duck under him and grin up at his face.
"Now why the hell would I care what my friend is classified as? If you're happy, I'm happy. My lips are sealed shut, swear on my heart." Liam perked up a little and finally returned his grin, hopping on top of him and rough housing playfully as they laugh and throw insults at each other. The usual, of course. He wouldn't have it any other way.
He could hear his mother sighing and speaking to those around him, but he felt such a pressure removed from his mind that he felt like he was walking on a cloud."Okay okay, enough, boys." Killian got in between the two of them and lifted Liam up, then helped Connor up. "We've got some more surprises waiting, so come on." Liam cocked his head to the side for a moment before nodding, letting Connor walk a couple steps before he ran up to him and jumped on his back.
