Winter had come earlier than normal here in Hawkins. Cold weather coasted around the town and hit every person the same way. Large, warm coats came out from the closets. It was starting to snow, as Jonathan pulled up in his ford galaxy.

The snow started to lightly cover his car. I wrapped myself up in my parka. Throwing the hood over my head and rushing out the door before jumping to his car. "So are you going to tell me what you have planned for us?" I asked through a cold shiver that ran down my spine.

Jonathan's car was running and the heat was on full blast but the cold winds that had hit my face as I ran towards his car were still in my body. "No, I'm thinking I'd like to surprise you." He said smiling sweetly at me. We had been together for only a short time, but he was my first true boyfriend.

He wasn't some sad joke that was being played on me. He was pure, sweet, and true to me in every way. When we first met it was in a high school class bumping into each other. Our things making a huge mess on the high school floor. His camera had flown through the air and landed on the lens, so the next time I saw him I gave him a brand new camera. I aplogized and thought it would be the end of that. Instead, it grew and blossomed into what we were now. Together almost every day and he picks me up for date night every week. Regardless of the weather, he was right here infront of my house at the right time, every time.

"I can deal with that as long as you let me control the radio." I said. He didn't say anything but went to pull out of the driveway. His arm came to sit on the back of my seat. I played with the radio until I switched to the mixtapes finding something more suitable for the both of us. "Girlfriend is better" popped up on the radio, and I smiled leaving it there. Jonathan began to softly move in the driver's seat and sing along with the words. I did the same.

Not truly paying attention to where we were going, we drove for what seemed like forever. The rest of the mixtapes played. The clash coming on next. Jonathan sang that song out to his heart's content. Each lyric was perfect in comparison to the actual song. He turned the radio all the way up as he continued to drive.

"I have to ask," Jonathan said turning down the radio a little bit so he didn't have to yell over it. "Yeah, love." I answered back grateful for the slight quietness. "You do know how to roller blade right?" He asked as he pulled up to a stoplight. He looked over at me, nose a little red due to the grand contrast of cold and hot. "Are you taking me roller skating?" I asked a little surprised at his date idea.

"No, Y/n. Just answer my question." Jonathan said, resting his hand on mine. His thumb grazed over my knuckles. "yes I can roller skate. Though I haven't gone in a long while. Not since I was kid, ya know with friends." I rambled on. "Good, I just wanted to be sure you can." Jonathan said, the light changed and he was back on the gas. We continued to drive in comfortable silence the radio playing in the background.

The mixtape played over only one or two songs before Jonathan was parking the car in a spot. The snow had stopped only just for a little. "You can open your eyes." Jonathan said the car was warm, the heat had slipped into my bones, and the jacket kept me hot like a furnace. When I closed them we were at a four-way stop, and now that I open them we were at an outdoor rink. Tons of families and couples were walking past us in our parked car.

"Is this..." My words eluded me. "An ice rink outdoors no less." Jonathan finished for me. With a proud smile, he shook his head looking over at me. "We're going ice skating in the middle of winter Jonathan?" I asked. Another proud smile and a head shake. "Now lets go before the rink gets too crowded and we can barely move." He said sweetly. Turning off the car and opening the car door, a whip of cold air hit the both of us. I shivered but unbuckled my seat and got out.

Slamming the door before walking closely next to Jonathan. I slipped my hand and arm around his. His hands shoved deep into his pockets trying desperately to stay warm. He looked over at me or rather looked down at me. There were a few things we hadn't done together. One of them being a kiss.

I was the purest girl in Hawkins, but regardless of that. Jonathan had been the sweetest boy about my kiss virginity. Taking every step carefully, we did everything except kiss. Everything under the sun we did. He held my hand sweetly as we went on dates.

The line wasn't long as we waited for our rental ice skates. "I get why you asked if I had ever skated before." I said, looking up at him. Before resting my head back on his shoulder. "I've never been ice skating though. I've heard the same motion." He laughed and then we walked forward.

We got our skates, and Jonathan found us a place to put them on. Jonathan was able to tie up his laces before I had even got my foot into the skate. He came over, bending at his knees and gliding both my feet into the skates before looking at me. His cheeks and nose were red due to being outside.

Then he laced them up for me. "I think you did that on purpose." He said lacing up one of the skates before tying a bow. Securing my foot in the skate. I rolled my eyes, a playful shrug at my shoulders. "Yeah, I think you did. You just wanted to see me on my knees." He said winking at me while he laced up the other skate. Patting my calves while getting up back onto his feet, and reaching a hand out for me to take. I walked slower than he did as we waited for an opening to the ice rink.

Jonathan took the first step reaching out a hand to help support me. I took it, relying all on my weight on Jonathan. He helped me step down onto the ice. A small slip-up and i'd end up on my ass, and in pain. But for the entire time, Jonathan held my hand and we skated together. The blades hit the ice and perfectly glided. We skated together for what seemed like forever. By the time my legs started to ache from the constant motion, the sun had moved to the middle of the sky. Along with that people had started to leave the rink so it was getting harder and harder to keep myself on my feet. But it was also nice to just be next to Jonathan and not be forced to talk about anything.

"Baby, my legs are hurting." I said, turning to look at me. "Are they? We can leave if you want." He said, A sympathetic look crossed his face. "Please, Jon." I said. My legs were aching, we held hands as we skated the last bit of the way toward the entrance.

He helped me take my skates off before taking his own off. We returned our rentals and then walked back to the car. The snow had started again and it covered Jonathan's car completely. "You know you're very pretty." He said his fingers grazing sweetly, and softly over my cheekbone. I couldn't help but blush at his soft touch and sweet comments. "Thank you, Jon." I whimpered.

He continued to let his fingers graze over my cheeks and jaw. Then his fingers ever so slightly grazed over my bottom lip. It quivered as his fingers left my bottom lip. Jonathan looked down at me. "I wish I could kiss these lips. They're so soft." Jonathan said looking back and forth between my lips and eyes.

"Can I?" He asked. My eyes got big under the immense stare I was getting from him. "Please." Jonathan begged me. His hand was cupping my cheek. The cold wasn't even that bothersome anymore. He was the only thing that I was worried about. He was all I cared about. Not the snow that was falling onto my lashes or onto Jonathan's beanie.

I shook my head, but he didn't move. Instead, he just kept looking at me. Sweet dark brown eyes looking at me, pleading with me. "Will you kiss me, Jonathan?" I asked. My breath was taken away as he dipped down. Our lips hit each other with a savory feeling behind them. Soft and pillowy as we kissed. Jonathan carded his fingers through the hair at the back of my neck.

They slightly parted but his tongue never slipped into my mouth. I just fell further into the kiss. I dare say that his kiss made me melt. I dare say that our lips melted together, but when he withdrew from the kiss. There were plump and red, I couldn't help but smile and bite my own swollen lips.

"We should get going." He said. I shook my head and let him guide me toward the passenger's door. Opening it and guiding me into the seat. I watched as he slammed the door shut and ran over to the driver's side. Even though it was cold in the car, the heat from the kiss kept me warm all the way home.
