"Get off me!" Haitham said in a frustrated tone as he tried to push Diana away. You tried to avoid being seen as you hid in the crowd of people, gripping tight to the plush that you recently named Shrewd after a 10-second search on thesaurus.com. (I totally didn't do that)

With some difficulty, you spotted that Diana was holding onto Haitham's bicep tight. You felt bitter for some reason. You shook it off as you watched the spectacle unfold in front of your eyes.

"But Alhaitham, you could be so much more popular if you're with me," she whined.
"Is that what you think I want?" he bit back, "You don't know anything about me."

The room fell silent. Diana had tears in her eyes. She spotted you.

"Is it because of Y/N?" she said, defeated.

Haitham froze, contemplated, and just turned around to leave. You were overwhelmed with guilt, this was your fault Haitham was dealing with a Diana who now had jealousy on her mind.

Just a burden to others, again.

You snapped out of your thoughts and ran after Haitham. You didn't mind the people staring at you as you run in the same direction as the one who left. You looked around but he was gone...

You sighed and went back to class. A note was on your desk, 'Diana' was the sender. 'Great', you thought as you read the note:

"Listen up, b*tch. I don't know who the f*ck you think you are but you're not going to win his heart before I do. He's mine so you gotta back the f*ck up or I'll kill your a**."

You turned your head to her seat to be glared at to which you looked away and sat straight in your seat. 'Archons, save me and just make her sick for a few days.'

After school ended, you turned on your phone and texted Haitham. He didn't reply.

After you were home, you checked your phone again. He didn't reply.

After the night passed, you checked your phone again. He didn't reply.

Was he... 

...avoiding you?
