Accidental Infidelity

"What are you doing here?" gulantang kong tanong at binalingan sina Mommy.

"What is he doing here?!" pagalit kong ulit.

I flinched when Ryker placed a hand on my shoulder. Agad kong iwinaksi iyon.

"Don't you dare touch me. Bakit ka nandito?"

"We're going to talk, El. I think it's time that you tell them the truth."

"What the fuck are you talking about? Walang kailangang malaman ang mga magulang ko at mas lalong wala kang kailangang malaman."

"Ryker told us everything," my mother interjected. Galit na bumaling ako sa kaniya.

Her eyes widened when she saw the hatred in my eyes. Tiningnan ko ang aking ama. He was shaking his head.

"And you believe this guy more than your own daughter?" mapait akong natawa. I can feel my heart shaking and breaking from the utter disappointment. Nag-unahan sa pagbagsak ang aking mga luha nang mapagtantong wala akong kakampi sa oras na ito.

"You've never even liked this guy, tapos ngayon ay paniniwalaan niyo siya?" Umiling ako. "I can't believe this."

I descended the stairs and Ryker followed. Nasa tapat na ako ng mga magulang ko nang hawakan niya ang aking kamay. My hand came into contact with his face immediately. Narinig kong napasinghap si Mommy.

"Hindi pa ba sapat na binigay ko na sa'yo ang kalayaang gusto mo? At ngayon naman, nandito ka at sisirain ang buhay ko? Tell me, Ryker, what did I do to you for you to treat me like this? Minahal kita. I took care of you. I have been there for you...so why?"

My voice broke. "I did everything just to get what you want. Hindi kita tinraydor. At the last minute, I did everything for you to achieve your dreams. Sa lahat ng oras, ikaw ang inisip ko. I haven't even took care of myself properly because I was busy taking care of you. Kaya...bakit?"

Lumapit ako sa kaniya. I fisted my hands on his shirt. My hand was shaking from anger. Lahat ng takot ko ay nawala at basta na lang napalitan ng purong galit at inis.

"Bakit, huh? Sagutin mo ako. Bakit ngayong wala na ako, siya namang lapit mo sa akin? What do you want from me, huh, Ryker? Were you really that miserable without me? Sana naisip mo 'yan noon pa lang, baka siguro magbago ang ihip ng hangin at hindi ka nagmamakaawa ngayon."

Tinitigan niya ako sa mata. His eyes fleeted towards my parents and then back to me. Kumabog sa kaba ang aking dibdib nang itaas niya ang kamay at ipinatong iyon sa kamay kong nakakahawak sa kaniyang damit. I tried to withdraw my hand but he clasped it tight.

"I love you, Lieve," he confessed. "I just realized I love you all this time. I was blinded by fame and money that I became selfish."

It sounded so pure and sincere. Maniniwala na sana ako kung hindi ko lang totoong kilala si Ryker. He's still the boy who makes up some lies for you to understand him. Para makuha niya ulit ang loob mo, gagamitin niya lahat ng pwede niyang magamit.

I snickered as if it was the funniest thing I've ever heard from him.

"What a fucking liar!" I muttered harshly. I pushed his chest with all my might. Umatras siya habang hindi makapaniwalang nakatitig sa akin.

"Lieve Adelaide, hindi kita pinalaking bastos!" My mother reprimanded.

"You are a damn liar! You have no right to step into my life again after hurting me like that. After treating me like I am some kind of a disposable and replaceable thing!" I stepped out of their zone completely. Gulat na napatingin lamang sa akin ang aking mga magulang. Ryker, on the other hand, could get the best acting award for how he's acting right now.
