Sepher's pov:
We look inside the trap door and theres this box with a green statue on it
Sepher:Thats not creepy and ominous at all
I earn a couple of chuckles as i enter before everybody to make sure it wasn't cursed or anything
Sepher:the statue of era curses all who touches it
Oh so it can curse people...Ohhhkayyyy
Joey:did you just touch it
Colleen:i think they touched the box
The rest of the note was basically a backstory on 'The Man With No Name' and how we need to pick straws to find team leaders so we could split up and find severed fingers.
Matpat:okay so i'll hold the straws everybody pick
We pick straws..Team 1:Teala Team 2:Manny.We go out of the extra room and read the rest of the note
Sepher:The youngest of the leaders will pick first,Pick until no one's left
Colleen:ooh we have to say our ages
Teala:i'm the youngest and i pick Mat
Manny:Joey
Teala:i pick Safiya
Manny:Nikita
Teala:Ro
Manny:Colleen
Mortimer:Since your last then you get to pick which team you want
I decided to go on Manny's team since i haven't really worked with all of them yet.I see Mat flash a sad look at me before smiling at Ro.We soon go outside and Calliope helps my team while Mortimer helps Teala's team.We read our first clue then we hear the signal and start running towards where the clue was.We looked all around before Joey found our first severed finger.We get back to the table and get out second clue when we put the finger back on the hand.The clue talks about 15 doors so we walk in this discrete part of town.Me and Nikita decide to distract big boy over here so we run out and start calling to him
Nikita:COME HERE
Sepher:Nikita you should help the others i got this
I start running as he's chasing me all over town.As I'm turning the corner I slip and eat SHIT.The man is right in front of me and he raises his arm.I prepare to get hit but i feel like i'm in air.Behind my closed eyes i could see the redness of one of the red lights and so i open my eyes quickly.
Matpat:are you alright?I saw you fall
Sepher:Yea i just ran to fast and slipped nothing i can't handle
Matpat:are you sure?
Sepher:yes i'm fine Thanks for helping me but i have to go back to my team
Matpat:uh yea thats right i should go back to mine too
Sepher:may the best team win
I shake his hand before saluting to him and running off
Sepher:AYE BIG BOY COME HERE
Manny:Sepher your a live-saver!!
Sepher:just doing my part now get those puzzles done i'll distract him
I run around again and run in area's that the teams aren't in to make sure they have no trouble.I soon hear my team scream
Joey:WE WON
I rush back over to the group and we group hug.I was ecstatic.I couldn't believe we won.We all calm down and i feel the pain my feet are in from running so much in tight shoes.Especially My back it wasn't a sore pain it was more Sharp and very hard to stand pain.
Sepher:Fuck this can't be happening
I mutter.I can't be hurt right now i have lives to save hell a whole town.The back is the most crucial part of the body besides the neck it basically holds your body together.My vision is barely visible and i can feel pins and needles through my back but i have to tough it out.You can do this Sepher just make the pain motivate you.We soon go into the arcade and see the other team walk in a couple seconds later.
Safiya:so you guys Found the gems
Manny:yea we did
Safiya:good game
Matpat:good job you guys
He shakes all of our hands making me kind of dizzy and looks down.I feel bad.Him and Safiya did all of the work and Teala is supposed to be the leader.
Calliope:it is now time to vote
We walk into the lounge and sit down.Manny puts the four obsidian gems in its place but now its time for the challenge
Colleen:plead your cases
Matpat:i've been committed since hour 1.I came here committed to save this town committed to end the carnival master to-
Colleen:times up hunny
Safiya:i think nobody can solve puzzles like me and i feel like i knew right away that the clue was the gazebo.i feel like you all need me
Rosanna:i'm a team player but i know that i could've done more
Teala:same I think i could've done more as-well but i know i have a high chance of going in right now
Nikita:so do you wanna just volunteer yourself at this point
Teala:i'd rather to just leave it at that
Calliope:only the loosing team will be displayed i will then shuffle then draw two
I watch Mat go up and sit back down as well as Safiya,Ro and Teala.It's now my turn and i pick Teala.She hasn't done anything to help.I sit down as best as possible next to Manny and Joey.My back feels shattered to the point of paralysis.The rest of my group goes up and i'm just hoping Teala goes in.
Calliope:The first one going into the challenge is the super spy
Calliope:the second one going into the challenge is the jetsetter
Rosanna:We're gonna find out his name
Calliope:Me and Mortimer will lead you to the challenge the rest of you stay here
I stand up the best i can and hug Rosanna.
Sepher:i hope you come back
Rosanna:i will Seph don't worry
Sepher:Go kick some ass
They leave.I couldn't hold myself up anymore.I gripped the back of the couch next to me to the point of my knuckles turning White.
Joey:What's the matter Sepher?
Colleen:yea are you okay?
All their voices were muffled.I wish they didn't pick up on it.I was shifting my weight between my feet with occasional swaying to prevent me from passing out.I didn't need this right now.
Safiya:Lets lay them down with their head propped up
Sepher:its my back i hit it too hard on the ground when distracting that bitch
They lead me to a couch and have my head propped up with pillows.The bright light above was making it hard to focus on anything going on around me.The pain almost seemed worse when laying down but i had to stick it out.
Manny:What would help?
Sepher:bright
Joey:here cover your face with this pillow
He hands me a pillow and i gratefully take it and place it over my eyes.My headache is now gone as well as the brightness in my vision.
Sepher:You all can sit I'm comfortable now
They all sit and wait until i hear screams of joy.My headache now fills my brain but i know somebody came back from the challenge.I uncover my eyes from the pillow and see Ro putting the 3rd artifact in the casing.I smile as she hugs the others.
Safiya:you can hug him just be careful
I hear before i feel the soft fabric of Ro's coat.
Rosanna:I'm back and i kicked ass
Sepher:YES I RAISED YOU RIGHT
I regret yelling so much but i didn't let it show.Rosanna is a cinnamon roll and i didn't want her to worry about me even though i'm pretty sure when her and Safiya were hugging she told Ro.
Matpat:wait so does this mean that this box is locked forever since we didn't get the coin at the pump station(yalls i'm sorry i forgot the box of lazarus part last chapter)
Joey:we didn't even try
Colleen:yea we didn't even try the clue at the pump station
Safiya:hopefully theres another way to open it
Sepher:The Carnival Master sucks
he's obviously playing tricks with us and for that we need to succeed in this mission,and kill him once and for all
