My grandma squints, pulling her sunhat down a little further. "I see. You can't explain a joke, but you'll gladly curse in front of your grandmother."

A blush rushes to my cheeks. Oops. "C'mon, grandma. You're cool."

"I suppose you did die. Never leave a bride at the altar." Her eyes stay narrowed.

Could I do that? It's hard to imagine; it's also almost impossible to imagine me geting married. Me fleeing from that kind of commitment, yeah, okay, not strictly out of the realm of possibility. 

"Okay, agreed. Does it get worse?"

She nods sadly and points to the water.
